I am desperately trying to get the Hyatt at a decent price and I thought maybe some of you had experience with this. We need the night before our cruise in June and the rates are more than I had hoped to pay. The rates for our date are $186 but we do have AAA so that did bring the price down to $157. That's still more than I want to pay so I went to the Hotwire website to see what was listed. The very first hotel listed was 3 1/2 stars with amenities that include restaurant, pool, gym, business center, tennis (nearby) and no shuttle. I have read somewhere but cannot remember where that these are the amenities of the Hyatt. I also remember reading that no shuttle is also a good indication because one would not be needed as you are already at the airport. The rate was $88 which would be great but I have never used Hotwire and I'm afraid it won't be the Hyatt. I will pay the $157 if I must but I'd love to save the extra money for our cruise and 5 nights at Pop Century after the cruise!!! Does anyone have any experience with Hotwire that might shed some light on my dilemma? If so, I would really appreciate your help.

Thanks!

Thanks for the website! I went to the site and tried to make heads or tales out of it all but I still prefer my favorite "experts" here on the DIS. I've also been on biddingfortravel.com but again I thought I'd try here too.

I saw a post about this last March and saved it. Here's a cut/paste excerpt from that (sorry, I didn't save who the origianl poster was):

"The one I chose had 3 1/2 stars and the amenities are: food, pool, fitness center, business center, and tennis nearby. There is NO SHUTTLE ICON.
I had read in previous threads people got the Hyatt by choosing the hotel with these same amenities. So I went for it. And THANKFULLY it was Hyatt."

The problem is, I haven't seen this listed on Hotwire for many months now and I remember other people saying they haven't seen it either. Good Luck!

MickeyEars-
If you bid based on this description, please let us know if in fact it turns out to be the MCO Hyatt. I might follow in your steps if it works out for you.

Thanks!

P.S. What dates did you input at hotwire? I put in our dates in March and got a room rate of $128/night. I'm hoping that will go down as the date gets closer.

Check in: June 4
Check out: June 5

The rate for that night keeps coming up $88.00. Did the same amenities that I listed come up for you also? I'm dying to know if this is the Hyatt or not. If our plans were different I might take the chance but I have my heart set on the Hyatt as do my two boys and if it turned out to be something else I think I would self destruct!!! We won't have a car so we're counting on the airport to provide some entertainment that evening. The boys can swim, maybe look through some of the shops and then have dinner somewhere in the airport.

Yes, I found the same amenities that you did. I plugged in your dates, assumed 1 room with 2 adults and 2 kids, and got the same $88 price that you did.

For my dates, the rate varies between $92 (1 room, 2 adults and 2 kids) and $128 (2 rooms, 5 adults and two kids, which is what we'll actually have).

I can't imagine that this isn't the MCO Hyatt. What 3 1/2 star hotel near MCO wouldn't have a shuttle, unless it's the one hotel that doesn't need a shuttle because its actually at the airport?

Unfortunately, I don't think Hyatt is a partner with Hotwire anymore. When I looked at the list of partners several weeks ago, it wasn't listed. Also, I haven't seen any posts of anyone getting Hyatt in the last couple of months.

dk, that's what I'm afraid of and exactly why I'm not going to book it. If there is anything that could go wrong it certainly will with me!!! We need some brave soul to test this for us!!!

My guess would be that the hotel is the Crowne Plaza. To the best of my knowledge, Hyatt has not been a partner of Hotwire for at least the past 6 months. Most of these bidding places now only show a partial list of amenities. In the past, you could always tell because of the lack of the shuttle icon, but that's no longer the case.

We just stayed at the Crown Plaza.....the pool is shut down for a few months due to Hurricane Damage and there is DEFINATELY a shuttle....so I would not count that Hotwire offering as the Crowne Plaza.
