Hi! I need help with a project that I think is going to be similar to a scrap book. My sister and I used to live together in philly and I would cook her dinner quite often.. but she moved to arizona in september. she's not as cooking saavy as I am, so for christmas she asked me to make her a cook book of my own recipes so that she could cook some of her favorites that I made when we lived together.

I want to make it like a book that can open up and I can send her new recipes every once in a while, through out the years. I need lots of help and inspiration.

I don't need help with the recipes, but more help on things like which papers work the best, I'll most likely be printing recipes out from the computer, and I'll probably make a little template (i have a design background and will most likely be using illustrator to create them).

What size book/paper do you think would work best with a recipe book?

If anyone has actually made a recipe book, do you have pictures of it that I could check out?

Any other ideas anyone has would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. :)

if you are going to want to send her recipes from time to time, maybe a 3 ring binder type thing would work best. I know when I got married, my mom put together all my favourite recipes in a 3 ring binder in the protective sleeves. (so I wouldn't get them messy :D ) If you are going for "fancy", you could print the recipes out on cardstock. maggie

ps: check out www.twopeasinabucket.com

every once in a while they have recipe books/pages posted in the gallery.

Michael's has a recipe scrapbook I think is costs around 38.00. It comes with a 3 ring binder, paper to print your recipes on. My friends has done 2 of these for christmas gifts for her sisters and I have to say it came out really nice.

Good luck

My sister was in a sb A-Z recipe swap one time. The completed project was an 8.5" x 11" three ring binder. Each alphabet letter represented one recipe/one page. The page was decorated accordingly using various sb embellishments. Each page had a protective sleeve. since my sister sent in two recipes for each swap, she got two books. She gave her extra copies.

I'm using the CM 7x7 album limited edition coming home album. I got the idea to make a recipe book from my Scraps Magazine (I'm a CM consultant). I can put 30 pages (60 sides) which should give me plenty of room for the receipes & photos of the chef's.

I spoke with dmil's 1st cousin & she is willing to put some of the Jewish family recipes in the book for me. I will send the book on to my stepmil, my best friend, then best friends' Mom. My Mom is going to give me her recipes then I will put them in the book. She WILL get overwhelmed w/ the process.

I am asking each 1 of them to contribute 5- 6 recipes. The pages will be predecorated & each person can chose which page they want to write their recipe on.

I'm using lined paper along with stickers from the Holiday Grandma's Kitchen Stickers

As soon as I finish I will have dh email some digital photos
