I am not going for 8 months(!) but would like advice on character meals.

Ideally I want something to do with Disney Princess for my daughter. There seems to be a number of different options but I would appreciate any thoughts/experiences. Forget that $200 one!

I have a daughter (4) and son (3). I am not staying in any Disney resort. We have a car. It can take them a while to get ready in the mornings, so noting too early please!

Also

I will opt for Spider-man meal at Universal for my son. Again, any views would be appreciated.

Many thanks

We really, really enjoyed Cinderella's Royal Table.

Why? It is a superb location (in the castle which is a very special place to eat breakfast) and you get to see lots of princesses. Do consider getting an autograph book for your DD so she will always have a keepsake of the meal.

We had an early seating and this was great because there was hardly anyone in the Magic Kingdom and we were able to get some wonderful photos in front of the castle with noone in them apart from us :) It was definitely worth the early morning for us for that reason alone.

A lot of little girls going to this meal wear princess outfits :)

If you decide you want to do this, you should be prepared to phone to book it exactly 90 days before you want to go at exactly 12 noon our time when the phone lines open, as it sells out fast!

If you need any help with when to phone let us know :)

Here are some photos from Cinderella's Royal Table :)

Can't comment on Princess meals, but we did the SpiderMan breakfast earlier this year (April).
I was a bit disappointed with the food - not as good a selection as at WDW buffets, but the character interaction was good and our 2 Ds's (5&6) both loved it. We had SpiderMan, Cat in the Hat and Thing1 & Thing2. It was very quiet - and I think had it been busier we may have had other characters too.

HTH! :flower:

We did CRT last December and had a lovely time! The princesses all chatted with DD3 and posed for several photos each, Fairy Godmother was in the lobby and she spent ages with DD (very long and deep conversation!)

I agree that most girls wore princess dresses, including DD. Many people adressed her as "Cinderella" which she loved!

I wouldn't worry about early starts too much! Our DD isn't usually very good in the mornings at home but at WDW, she was awake by 06.30 hours every day and couldn't wait to get to the parks! :rotfl:

Do you always need to make reservations in advance for character meals or can you book when you get there ?

D

It depends, Mr D. The popular ones (Cinderella's Royal Table, Princess Storybook Breakfast for example) are best booked in advance but if you are going off season I'm sure you would get one somewhere with no problem.

We really like 1900 Park Fayre at the GF - both for breakfast and dinner.

We didn't realise that you had to book some places in advance of going, but when we got there, we didn't have too much trouble getting in places - a few days notice on Sci-fi diner and Chef Mickeys, but other than that - we ended up asking what was available in the next hour, and they always found us something good.
