Help needed fast! National Car Rental

I leave tomorrow morning to MCO. I need someoneto point me in the right direction on this one. I booked air and car through MLT but I am an emerald club member and my number is on the reservation. I am told that I need to go to the counter so that my voucher can be validated because I booked with a company. Is this correct? Isn't there an area for Emerald Club members that need counter service or do I have to stand in the regular line? I am all confused as I am being told a million things. I just don't want to stand in that line if I don't have to but I don't want to get out to the cars and find out I have to go back to the counter.

Please help!
 
Since you are an Emerald Club member, you should be entitled to go to the emerald line in the terminal. National's line should not that bad compared to what you hear about Alamo's line all the time. Your best bet should be to call National and find out from them. Also call (407)855-4170 ext:LOCAL ,the National location at Orlando airport. I had a specific question and called the desk/location in Orlando and that person seemed to be more knowledgeable about my problem. It's a toll call but it might be worth it.

According to them there is no emerald club line in the terminal. I just called and they told me that I should be able to go to the booth in the garage. She said it is a customer service booth where I should be able to have my voucher validated. Has anyone done this? I don't want to just go on her word because she did not sound real confident that she was giving me the correct answer. So anyone with real experience with this is much better than an agent in my mind.

Yes, the information you received is correct. There is a special line at the counter for EC members or you do as you were instructed by the agent you spoke with.
Vouchers are different than making the reservation yourself. Often the travel agency does not collect the taxes and fees and you will have to pay for them when you return the car. Check the voucher and see if these taxes and fees have been paid.
You will receive credit for the rental or airline miles, whichever you have opted for, but, you do not receive the bennies that accompany EC membership when you don't book it yourself.
