We were involved in an auto accident last night at the corner of Vineland and 535 (by Bahama Breeze) at approx. 12:40am (Family is all okay, thank goodness). The other driver was in a rental car and is denying he ran the red light (I had the green arrow turning onto Vineland). I was so concerned making sure the kids were okay I didn't even think about stopping anyone as a witness and it's now our word against his. We would like to thank the two good samaritans (firefighter and the lady who called 911) who stopped to make sure we were okay.

If any Dis'ers were in the area and happened to see anything and would not have a problem talking to our insurance co Please, Please, Please email me. I would be very appreciative.

Cars involved were a dark green Ford Aerostar mini van (us) and a Nissan (Sentra I think).

We were due to drive home this morning and are now stranded until our vehicle can be made driveable. We can't do anything further with our insurance co until Monday. I guess it's a good thing I brought plenty of sandwich and snack stuff with us. We can hang out at the pool and have 1 plus left on our hoppers so we can get transport to a water park for a day when the kids are going stir crazy. It could be a lot worse....at least none of us were seriously injured and we had a great time up until this point.

So if anyone can offer any help as a witness, we would certainly appreciate it.

Thanks In Advance!
Sharon

Sorry that happened to you. Since there was a 911 call, can that be traced to the person who made the call?

Aren't there cameras at some intersections? Glad no one was hurt. A girl I work with had an accident in St Petersburg when she was on vacation. A pizza delivery guy ran a light and hit her broadside. She ended up having to spend an extra week while her car was being repaired so she could drive home. Unfortunately, she was stuck with the hotel bill for that week, plus the deductible. The delivery guy had no insurance and the pizza shop denied he was working there (he was paid under the table). Her insurance company put a lein on the delivery guy. He ignored it until he could not get credit on something he wanted to buy. He called her and tried to arrange for payments but I don't think she ever got much.

If you can, I would suggest posting signs at the intersection where it happened. Just make sure it is legal to do so. I know it is tough since you are stranded, but a cab ride might be worth it.

Good luck. I had a lady back into me last spring. It didn't cause a lot of damage and no one was hurt.. but there was enough damage to a 2 yr old car that I wanted it fixed.

Well she moved out of state and denies liability. She has insurance too

We ended up being stuck.

I just do not understand why someone ..especially someone with insurance would down and out lie about something like that.

I really hope you find someone who witnessed your accident and ya don't get stuck like I did.

Why not post a personal add in the paper...? It might help.

I actually live about a block away from that intersection, and I was driving past on that night, but about an hour and 15 minutes earlier than you were. I checked with my roommates, and none of them were out at that time.
