Hi, I am more of a lurker on here but I need and will appreciate some info on Vacation Village At Parkway.:worship:

Traveling in June with DSM 62, DH42, DD15, DN 15, DN17 and me 45. We have a 2 bedroom unit.

What bldg should I request? Upper or lower floor? Any with great views?

Anything needed to bring from home? Other than towels( which I read about on here)?

Best restaurants in the area? Seafood?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!:cool1:

We've stayed at Vacation Village a couple of times on RCI exchanges. We tend to spend nearly all of our time at the theme parks, so the resort is mostly just a place for us to sleep. We've never requested a specific building, and I'm not sure from what I saw that one has any great advantage over another, unless you feel the need to be close to the registration building. The buildings are in set up in several groups that surround a pool area. The rooms on one side of the building will face inward to the pool area, and the others will face outward and overlook the parking lots and wooded areas. We've always requested rooms on the upper floors that face the woods/parking lot, so that you're high enough that you can look right over the parking lot into the woods. The rooms facing the pool area can sometimes be noisy into the late evening, if it's good swimming weather. I don't think you need to bring anything from home other than personal items. We were well supplied with towels and didn't have to bring our own. The kitchen seemed well equipped, although we actually used it very little except for the refrigerator and microwave. We had a couple of small maintenance issues which were addressed very promptly by the staff. There are dozens and dozens of restaurants within very short driving distance of the resort - just about anything you could want. Just do a google maps search for restaurants near that address. I do remember that there is a Red Lobster nearby, if you want seafood.

Thank you so much for the info!:goodvibes
I will request an upper floor, wood view. Planning on writing a review when we return so others will know what to expect. Thanks again.

One other thought - do not, under any circumstances, accept their offer to attend a free breakfast/timeshare sales pitch in order to get whatever they're offering for free (tickets for the Arabian Nights dinner show, or theme park tickets - it can vary). You will probably be contacted about it more than once during your stay. We took this advice from others who have stayed there and who made the mistake of doing this. Apparently, despite any assurances from the resort that the presentation is brief and painless, they take you off site for the sales pitch, so you can't even leave if you decide you've had enough, and it will eat up several hours, if not all, of your day. By all accounts, it can be high pressure, and it's probably not something you want to put yourself through just for the free tickets. Just politely but firmly decline when you are asked about it at check-in. Enjoy your stay there. It's a great place.
