Help... need to get on the Frozen Ride!

Personally I have to wonder if sooner or later Disney is going to implement something to stop people from doing the "make an ADR and skip breakfast/ pay a small fee" action plan - they are losing money on people who would actually pay for the food/ experience. I suspect they will eventually do a morning experience that is similar to the one at MK - QS breakfast somewhere (Sunshine Seasons) and early access to Soarin' and FEA and something else (Living with the Land?) it would probably sell like hot cakes
That is a great idea!

Agree but then again I don't think they'll have folks no-showing for $25-$45 per person, at least until Star Wars opens. :goodvibes
I'm not so sure. The price of Early Morning Magic ($69/$59) shows us exactly what people are willing to pay for a ride on a popular attraction before the crowds arrive. And that is way more than $25-$45. There is no doubt that far fewer people would skip out on a $45 pre-paid reservation. But the delta between $25-$45 and $69 suggests that many still would. Bottom line...we are going to soon see Akershus priced and charged like CRT, and/or we are going to see a hard ticket "Early Morning Schoolbread Magic" event that will allow for a ride on FEA, a trip through the meet and greet, and a ride on the Mexico Boat ride bundled with a waffle and a cup of coffee for $69. It has to happen.

For those who think booking a PPO ADR with the intent of skipping it, and just eating the $10/person no show fee, please reconsider. You will be denying someone, who really wants to eat at the restaurant, that opportunity. More importantly, you're screwing a server out of a tip he/she relies on for income. I think most people are aware that servers live off their tips. All to avoid the line to some silly ride. You're going to have a blast at WDW regardless. If you want to ride something that badly, be there early and at the head of the rope drop crowd. Rant over. Sorry.

When WDW implemented FP+ they created a market for this and other hacks. IMO the onus rests solely on WDW execs. Families paying thousands of dollars overall are likely not going to blink over a $10/pp sacrifice to get on their much-anticipated rides.

OP do what you need to do to have a good trip. WDW created this beast. ❤

This is buck passing at its finest. If the OP decides to do something selfish, that has nothing to do with Disney execs.

For those who have ridden the ride already, would you liken the experience to something akin to the Little Mermaid ride, with animatronics and music at every turn?

I'm sorry, this is not only is this type of attitude selfish...it's failing to take accountability. Moreover, it's only a matter of time before those WDW execs catch on and penalize the rest of us because of folks that abuse the system.

I would like to add that it is standard practice in the restaurant industry to overbook for no shows and cancellations.

There are a number of restaurant management software programs that allow a restaurant to manage front of house by calculating their average no show/cancellation rate and overbook accordingly, based on historical and current guest attendance behaviors. I'm sure a company as large as Disney employs at least one of the restaurant management programs. They are not going to allow a number of tables to just sit empty not generating revenue.

The company can overbook those tables in restaurants with higher no show rates, allow more ADRs to be made during the same time period, turn those tables allowing the servers to make their gratuities and the company keeps the $10.00 per head cancellation fee. No worries.

You are welcome to your opinion. You see this as selfish. I do not. I see it as making a financial decision to increase the return on my overall investment.

Agreed. Just like the people who create phantom MDE accounts to be able to get extra FPs.

How is that even possible? I book a vacation for a family of 5. Buy park tickets for a family of 5 as part of a package, and get entitlements to fast passes for 5 individuals.

You're right. That's not selfish.

???

I make every financial decision keeping ROI in mind. Sorry you see that as selfish.

Every consumer here is going to decide what works best for their travel party. I'm grateful we aren't all locked into the same vacation.

There is a thread with about 100 pages discussing how to do it. Blows my mind.

Doing (unethical) things that benefit yourself at the expense of everyone else is the very definition of selfish. You can spin it any way you want to make yourself feel better about doing it, but that still doesn't make it anything other than selfish.

I don't get this. But that's ok.

We had an excellent trip last month with our campsite, extra bands, and PPO ADRs. For sure I wish WDW hadn't made it so much more complicated than it use to be, but they have and we adapted.

Hope OP & everyone else has a great vacation.

Or they'll make the character breakfasts in the park fully pre-paid like CRT is.

The OP just needed info on FP pre-booking for FEA and subsequent strategies. Thanks, everyone!
