We've stayed 6 times or so at WH condos. We decided to book a relatively last minute trip and most of our normal haunts are booked. We're left trying to decide between a WH Townhome for around $1100 and a Windsor Palms Townhome for around $700 (dates / times basically the same.

Any thoughts? Is Windsor Palms as safe / well kept? Will we notice an appreciable difference in how long it takes to get from WP to the parks compared to WH? We need to book TODAY - so any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

:) TIA! :)

It seems like it would be comparable in security and cleanliness. The drive time MAY be a few more minutes from WP but it's still awfully darn close.:wizard: I have to say that after staying a WH condo, we tried one of the WH 4 bedroom, 4 bath, heated/enclosed pool w/hot tub houses, and were thrilled by the space to spread out. :lovestruc

I wouldn't hesitate to try WP. :wizard:

For $400, I can live without the plunge pool and the few minutes' shorter drive.

I agree...I'd take that money and use if for other "fun" stuff.

Windsor Palms is very nice too.

Have a great time!

THANK YOU. I'm not OP, but was wondering the same. Thanks for putting my mind at ease.

WP is gated and guarded, just like WH. The community is very well kept. It is a more compact community (you can easily walk all around the community, WH is much bigger) and the condos are not as tall (3 stories high).

WP is literally across the street from WH (OK, there is another community in between, but it is basically they are at the same level). You can see the homes at WH on the way out of WP.

As to driving times to the parks, add maybe 1 or 2 more minutes to your driving times versus WH.

ok, for what it is worth, one of them has a water sewage plant next to it and no matter what anyone says on here, we could smell it when we were there - it's the one further back on Old Lake Wilson Rd. Otherwise distance and type of accommodatiuon would not sway me but that smell would! You can see it on google earth.

I really appreciate all of the responses! I think we're going to give it a shot. I've done a lot of searching around the web and I'm very comfortable the owner is legit. The only other concern would be the water treatment plant. This townhome is literally the furthest WP property away from the treatment plant (thank you Googleearth:) ). We're also going in March, so the heat won't be as bad.

After all negotiations were done, we're getting 9 nights in the WP condo for $750 INCLUDING heated pool, taxes, and no additional cleaning fee. That's less than $85 per night all taxes and everything included. Every time I book a condo I find myself wondering why anyone stays at a hotel in Orlando (except the on-site ones - I get that some people want to be immersed in the whole Disney on-site experience, but I can never justify the cash difference for myself).

Anyway - thanks again for the input! I really appreciate it!!!

If you don't mind, will you PM me the Windsor Palms rental info. That sounds like an amazing price, and I'd love to check availability for our daughters' Spring Break.

Thank you in advance,
Martha

I would love the info as well...thinking about a last-minute trip mid-March. Wanted to book a house with a pool but it's too stressful at this point. I told my husband we should just look at condos. It makes me feel better if I know a fellow diser has checked it out! Thanks so much

Wow...great rate! I'd love the WP info. too! Is there a website link for the property? If so you can post it on here!
We usually stay at WH to but have an extra tight budget this trip! ;)
