HELP--Need question about hotel to stay overnight in Savannah, GA

Can someone please help me figure out an easy hotel you would recommend off of I-95 at/near Savannah, GA? This is going to be our stopping point both to and from Disney.

We will get there a lot sooner than my twin sister so if it has an indoor pool--that would be a bonus (but doesn't have to have this). For us we'll have only driven 4 hours, for my sister 6 hours. She doesn't think her 1 yr old can handle driving the whole trip at once so we agreed (not by choice--LOL) to stop in Savannah on our way to Orlando.

Is Savannah right off 95? I thought it was a bit out of the way. But we drive down from Maryland and stop in Kingsland Ga, right off 95, and they have some wonderful hotels there.....Country Inn and Suites, Fairfield Inn, and about 4 others....the two mentioned are ones we have stayed at. My daughter recently stayed in Kingsland from her drive from New Bern, NC and stopped at the Country Inn and Suites and it worked out well....another plus is that you are very close to the florida border, and it really is RIGHT off of 95, so a quick hop on and off.

I live in Savannah. I would probably try the Hampton Inn and Suites which is right off I-95 on Al Henderson. There are actually several decent hotels in that area.
And yes, Savannah is RIGHT off I-95, however you would have to ride a little bit if you were interested in seeing downtown Savannah.

We stayed at the Jameson Inn right off 95 and it was fine- clean and safe. Of course this is our stopping place from NJ! LOL and we don't stop on the way back until VA! Why don't you just meet her there? It is not like you will be spending much time with here that night anyway.
Oops forgot to say it was off pooler exit! And we just stayed in July it was new then.

Pooler GA is another area loaded with hotels and restaurants. Just before that, the airport exit has some too I believe. I used to stay at the Microtel in Pooler while taking classes nearby (at the Mighty Eighth Air Museum). Outdoor pool there, but it was nice for a night or two (that was 6 years ago too so it may not be as nice).

I stayed in Pooler GA too. We stayed at the Ecno Lodge. It was nice, not fancy or anything but we didn't need it to be.

We always stay at the Hampton Inn right off 95 in Savannah. It is the Savannah Gateway exit, I believe it is exit 94 or 96. We usually use our AAA discount.

We visit the Days Inn river front in the historic district (on Bay St.) each year. I usually book it with Travelocity.com. You shouldn't have to use your car unless you want to once you check in. City Market is behind it and River Street is in front of it. You can also hook up with the tour trolley's there.

We have stayed at that Hampton as well. Nice, clean, and very easy to get to. Just avoid that Cracker Barrel near by, it was the worst food I ever had and we LIKE cracker barrel!!

We stayed in a Hampton Inn there in April 2005 as a mini vacation on the way to WDW. I'm guessing it's the same one as others mentioned, but not sure if there is more than one in Savannah. Ours was a block up from River Street. It was very nice and it has a pool, but I'm pretty sure it was an outdoor rooftop type. The free breakfast was good and the workers were so sweet-one of the "waitresses" gave my daughter a ceramic bear on our 2nd morning there. I think the location is good too-close to the highway but close to various Savannah tourist sites too.

We are in Burlington, NC. When we drive we stop and spend the night in Brunswick, Ga. We've usually stayed @ a Comfort or Days Inn (it's the same hotel they've just changed the name but it's on New Jessup Hwy or just Jessup Hwy and right of I-95). I don't think they had an indoor pool though. It was nice & clean and offered a continental breakfast. The next morning we had about a 3 hour drive to Orlando.

One year we stayed at a Baymont in Brunswick for $39 a night, you definitely get what you pay for, we had to move rooms twice, the first one smelled like cat urine and the second smelled like smoke (it was a non-smoking room) and the rooms were tiny.

I would do a search on Hotels.com, Expedia.com, etc. to see if any have an indoor pool.

We have stopped here a few times. I can recommend the Country Inn and Suites. It does have an indoor pool and you are right off of I95. We also stayed at a Wingate Inn there which had an indoor pool but the room seemed to need updating. Unless they have done that, I could not recommend that place. We have never driven into Old Savannah but it sounds like we are missing something. We have always just used our overnight stay to rest and eat as we drive from New York.
We have also driven about 40 minutes further South to Brunswick, GA which is Exit 38. There is an Embassy Suite we have stayed at which is attached to a mall. Outdoor pool, a little old but the rooms were redone. Very nice with a great breakfast included. We just stayed at a new Holiday Inn and Suites at this same exit which had an indoor pool. Very clean, well lit and would definitely recommend it. I noticed they had also just built at this same exit a Fairfield Inn and Suites and a Country Inn and Suites. We like this area. There is a Super Walmart, Ruby Tuesday, McDonalds, Golden Coral and other restaurants. The next day, we drive to exit 36 East and there is a House of Pancakes we go to for Breakfast. You are about 3 hours from Disney at this exit. Have a great trip!

Hampton INN off I95, I think it was exit 104? Very good choice IMO.

We have stayed at the Country Inn & Suites in Savannah as well. It is nice and relatively new. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby. BTW, the Hampton Inn near the exit, discussed above, is not the same one that is near the river. I-95 is a considerable distance from the river.

If you have time and can go to downtown Savannah, it really is a neat city. I used to go every year for my sister to go to All-State Band. We would always stay at an inn near the river. And, of course, eat some great seafood.
