Hi, my DH, DD (11) and I will be in The World this December. Yipee!! :cheer2:

But my DH and DD are concerned that we will be doing all the same things again (who cares?! :confused3 ) and want to add some things that are different on this trip.

So, we've done all the parks.....been on all the favorite rides....gone to MVMCP......done DTD...all of which we will be doing again. :goodvibes

What I am needing are ideas of stuff that people wouldn't normally think of doing there. Some out of the way "treasure" or some experience that's unique.

A couple of things that are on my list are to eat a meal at AKL, and look for hidden mickeys (something we forgot to do last time).

Any ideas would be SO appreciated!!

Go to the VMK store on Main Street in MK and pick up the Quests for the different lands. Even if you don't want to play online later, they are fun. You can search all over the MK for the answers and then get free VMK cards and Glow in the Dark braclets when you take them back to the store. Also, if you complete 3 quests, you get a free VMK tour. It was fun, back entrance to HM, Ride on BTMRR and only the tour members and guide on River cruise.

Segway tour in EPCOT is an idea...seems to be worth the money. I tried to book for 3 in December and only 1 slot available. Perhaps the dates you are there it might be available.

Rent the mini boats (were at GF years back) a 1-person boat you drive around 7 seas lagoon.

some other ideas: tour resorts and plan a dinner/lunch or two in a resort you haven't stayed in. We took monorail to GF and had dinner at 1900 Park Fare last time there. Excellent dinner with Cindy, Suzy, Perla, and Prince Charming. Next time I think its WL and Whispering Canyon for us.
Have you seen Fantasmic that is a must do for our next trip that we haven't got to yet. How about a tour - like steam train tour? New Lilo and Stitch breakfast is now also on our list. My 10 yr old dd was thrilled to pick an oyster in Japan and had a necklace made with her pearl.

Don't forget that there is actually other amazing things to do beyond the borders of WDW in central Florida. Orlando has two other major themepark locations, Universal Orlando with Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, and Seaworld. There are also several major outlet malls, many dinner shows, some top-notch museums, etc., etc. The Kennedy Space Center is not far away, as well as Busch Gardens in Tampa, and some awesome beaches on both the east and west coasts of FL.
It's a big, exciting state. Don't limit your exposure to WDW.

Perhaps sign up and do a couple of tours? Or Eat at the california grill and watch wishes? Or Catch the Cirque Du Soleil show "La Nouba"? Or get a couples spa treatment at the Grand Floridian? Or Hotel hop and check out a few hotels you have never stayed at? Or do a character dining? Or get an early seat for fantasmic? Or vist Celebration,FL? Or take a DVC tour? Or mini gulf at fantasia gardens/winter summerland? Or try and get all the pressed pennies you can? Or dine with a Disney Imagineer? Or do a fishing excursion? Or catch a show at the House of Blues? Or catch some watersports at a marina on property?(parasailing, ski-ing,etc) Or catch the Electric Pagent Water Parade? Or just get a Dole whip and sit together and do some people watching as a break in btwn rides. Hope your stay is wonderful! :earsboy:

How about a horse drawn carraige ride from WL?

play a round or two of miniature gold at either fantasia gardens or winter summerland. or play at both courses!! they are a lot of fun!! take the keys to the kingdom tour. we did it on our last trip and enjoyed it very very much. it's a lot of fun and very interesting. try to get a wishes or illuminations cruise. this will add a little uniqueness, if there is a word, to seeing either fireworks show. go for a nice boat ride at the GF or BC or whatever resort you can rent boats at. ooh, you can look into booking a romantic evening massage at the GF. the two of you will be in the room together getting a massage. we did that on our last trip and it was wonderful. go see La Nouba!! excellent show. definitely worth seeing.
i know how you feel about doing different and new things for your trip. that was my goal on our recent trip and we had a great time with all the things i just posted. we didn't get to do the wishes cruise because lightning was bouncing around. i hope these ideas are of some help to you.

You guys are awesome!!

What great ideas! I'm making a list "as we speak"!

:sunny: Hi

The Segway tour at EPCOT is great, we would definately do it again.

If you are rearly brave you could fly in a warbird and do aerobatics from Kissamee airport.Check out www.warbirdadventures.com.

An evening around the Boardwalk is great fun. You can rent Surry bikes, and plenty of nice places to eat.

Afternoon Tea at The Grand Floridian is nice, you can get the boat across from MK

Have fun :goodvibes

Not to put a damper on things, but I noticed you said your DD was 11. I'm pretty sure the Segway Tour is for 16 and over. I think some of the Backstage tours also have age restrictions. So check that out BEFORE you suggest these to DD [or even DH, as I know I'd be real dissappointed if I thought I was going to get to ride a Segway only to find out I cant :(]
