I was wondering if anyone knew how I could secure an electric scooter or wheelchair for the week we are at Disney. My parents are joining us and my dad just found out he has a herniated disk in his back that won't be prepared before we go. Is there a phone # I can call and inquire. Any input would be great!
You should read the disAbilities board here for more recommendations, but when we took grandma with us last December, based on their recommendations we rented from Randy's Mobility. You can find their number online, do a google search if you don't see it on the Disabilities board. They brought the ECV to us at our hotel, and were absolutely on time, even slightly early. They showed us how to use it, and how to break it down to put it in the rental car. It looked brand new. Grandma loved it. It was nothing like the huge ugly ones at the local grocery store, lol. It was about $150 for the whole week we were there. They came to the hotel to pick it up too. I highly recommend them.
Here's a list of the off-site places that DIS posters report good experiences renting from:

We rented from Walker in early March, as my husband was recovering from foot surgery, and couldn't walk too long. They were great - I would highly recommend them.
I also strongly reccommend Walker, I have used them and when I had some minor problems, our own fault, they were absolutely great with providing service. They deliver right to your hotel and pick up after your stay. We are using them again in May
