Help need a place to stay feb 3-10 at least 2 bedrooms good price

The one that we will be at is CP (Phase I). We would have been fine with a 2BR as well, but this way everyone will have their own be and nobody will have to use the sofa sleeper.

I used the "buy it now" with a price of $499. I probably could have gotten it cheaper since there was a starting bid of $399 with no bids, but I didn't want to get into a bidding war and risk either not getting it at all or end up paying more than the BIN price.

That's a really good price for a 3BR. The biggest difference with the two units is that the 2nd BR is smaller at CP (a twin and a trundle instead of two twins). There's also some diffence with the master BR, but either way, you're probably going to be very happy.

The volcano pool is over at CP too (although CPGV is very close).

Have a great trip (and please let us know how it goes - I'd love to luck up on a 3BR in that price range)!

If it is even half as nice as it sounds I will be very happy given the price. I'll be sure to post back and let everyone know how it goes. Since it sounds like you have been there before, could you possibly tell me how far the resort is from Universal?

Well, it's a lot closer to Downtown Disney (less than a mile), but it's also not a bad trip up to Universal. We went up there twice to eat at CityWalk while we were there. I don't think it was more than 20 minutes.

We're also planning on staying at CPGV again next December when we go to Universal and Sea World (this trip was all Disney).

We went up I-4, but there's a better way to go. I actually forgot about it, so I didn't get directions ahead of time.

If you'll pull up Orlando on Mapquest.com and click down in the Lake Buena Vista area, you'll see 535. Where 535 makes a dogleg to the left, Palm Pkwy is to the right. If you follow it, it turns into Turkey Lake Rd. which will take you to US/IOA.

Also, if you enlarge it around the 535/Palm Pkwy. area, you'll see Treasure Cay (which is where CP is) and Vinnings Way. VW runs into Lake which is a shortcut to Palm Pkwy.

That's the way we'll got next time instead of fooling with I-4.

Have a great trip!

You're going to love it. I seriously considered buying a week here, and the annual fees on a 3BR week were around $770 or so. Getting one for $500 is a steal. Good bargain hunting!

Truthfully, after staying there in December, I kind of thought about the same thing myself (buying on ebay or something of that nature). We all really liked it there, but I decided that if I can rent just as, or more, cheaply, I can give myself more options that way.

I have a very specific week, with no flexibility. Sometimes my week is available via ebay, but often it is not, so I would have to rent from hotelkingdom instead. At the resale prices I was seeing, owning breaks even with renting from hotelkingdom in about seven years, assuming 5% after-tax investment return on capital and 3% inflation; after that, owning is a better deal.

I did see some resell deals that were excellent and made it very tempting! And you're absolutely right about the flexibility. In our case, we're very flexible, and that does make a huge difference.

Well, we made it here and have been here for nearly a week. Everything with the room from Renting Resorts (Brooke) worked out great. No problems with the reservation. I didn't make any specific room requests so I'm not sure about that. Cypress Pointe is located very close to everything - less than 15 min to Universal or the Disney parks (thanks again to Horseshowmom for the tip on Turkey Lake Rd to get to Universal).

We were very happy with how things worked out with the room and would definitely rent from Brooke/Renting Resorts again.

Thanks for checking in with us! I've already added R_R to my ebay favorites list. I like that they have the 3BR units a lot. I also noticed that they have units in other places that I like (the person I used was great, but she only had access to Sunterra properties). Thanks for the update!

i cant wait to go either....we're driving fron new york on feb 3rd str8 to florida no stopping and we should check in on the 4th...we recieved our confirmation the next day after the auction..we're staying at cypress pointe (I still cant believe i got the 3bedroom for only $430 for the whole week, thanks to Brooke!!)...the only difference between CP and CPGV is that cypress pointe grand villas has larger units, has elevators, and did not recieve a complete renovation...however i did stay there maybe 2 years ago and the place was great...only complaint is limited parking...but that happens almost everywhere. You should have a awesome time!
