I have two choices in 2005. I can either go between March 11-25 (25th is Good Friday) or I can arrive on the Saturday before Columbus and leave the Sunday after.

We (me, DH, DDs (9&4)) are taking my parents who have not been since 1989.

What week would be better and why?

Looking at crowds, temp and other reasons (MNSSHP and Food & Wine in Oct, nothing in March)

Thank you for your help as I have not been at either time.

I would go in October simply for the weather. And, I happen to be a big fan of the Food & Wine festival. Even though the week leading up to Easter isn't all that bad, and Columbus Day weekend will be pretty crowded, I'd still choose October. My favorite time to be in the parks!

Average attendance during Easter week at the MK is around 60,000 visitors per day. During Columbus week, it is about 30,000.
Make you decision any easier? :)

Definitely October! DD and I will be there with you if you go then...we're looking at October 8-17, 2005! :sunny:

Friends of mine went the week before Easter last year and it was a zoo...90 minute waits for Dumbo!

Thanks for all the input.
mic_key_mouse,
Thanks for the historical data. And you had me rolling on the floor laughing.

Anybody else?
