Natalie (or anyone who can help)- I think I remember reading that you use Digital Image editor (Microsoft).
I have this program on my laptop and enjoy using it but I can't figure out how to get things into a Mickey head shape?? Let me show you what I mean...

How do you get rid of the excess photo on the bottom layer? (outside of the Mickey head shape??? I love this photo and my husband took another daytime shot of the castle that I would like to do this with???

I don't have an answer to your question but wanted to say "That's an AMAZING photo!!"

I found it on the photography boards here...my husband has a daytime shot that I think is really great- it looks like a post card...I actually had it blown up for his office at work and people can't believe he took it! But you are right this shot is fabulous!

Lisa, you can do it one of 2 ways.................

1. With what you have now, stack the layers ( you should see the layers along the right hand side of your screen). Choose the castle photo. Then using the freehand tool (looks like a stitched heart on your toolbar) trim away what you don't want. You don't have to be exact because your border layer will hide the flaws (as long as you stay with the border). Make sure your selection box is showing (if it's not click on selection on your toolbar). Once you've drawn around the border and closed your selection, click on invert in the selection box to take away what is on the outside on the border rather what is on the inside. Click delete!

2. Open your mickey head template. In a separate window open your photo. Go back to the mickey head and select it. Under effects, choose Fill with texture or color. Your tool will appear on the left. Choose picture. Your open pictures will appear on the left. Choose the castle photo. The tool will allow you to move and resize the photo with the mickey head. Once you have where you like it......click done. Then just add your stamped border.

I hope this makes sense!

Natalie,
Thank you so much- it does make sense!! I am going to play with it tomorrow...I'll let you know how it turns out!

Hi! I hope you don't mind answering a quick question. Which program are you using? I have been trying to create some shirts for our 09 cruise. I can not find the boarders you are using. Your work is beautiful.
Thank you for your input

I am using Microsoft Digital Image Standard 2006. Thank you!

Thanks Natalie for the step by step...I think I have a different version of Microsoft digital image (mine is standard 2006) but your directions helped so much! I really needed to just leave it alone for a few days and then try again. This time I used my husband's favorite photo from our 2004 Disney trip. I plan to work on the wishes one later... Here's how it came out!
