Help name my new horse!

I am going to take a few shots today and I'll see if DH can post 'em (I"m terrible at this stuff!).

BTW, we tried him out in our S.O. practice last night and he did GREAT!. There were about 8 horses in my arena (the indoor arena which is very crowded with more than 4 horses)...so we got a good feel for how he is with unfamliar situations, being crowded around strange horses, and lots of loud kids/adults all over him. He was totally unflappable! He packed his rider around the ring without a fuss or a wrong step. What a find!

DH just suggested:

Mushu
Scrat

I wish we had the horses registration papers. Usually we can take part of his registered name and give him a "barn name"....for example, we have a horse registered as "HOld Tight Mike" and his barn name is "Mike". But part of the donation of the horse precluded us from getting his registration papers (though he is absolutely a registered quarter horse).

Congratulations on your new guy! Your program sounds great.

I love Capn Jack Sparrow, and Jack for short! but that is my son's name, and johnny depp is cute, sooooooooo, i am biased.

Scout?

My ponies names are rockaby and lullaby. Everyone loves those names.
Rick in Nyc- seems cute to me- rick makes me think casablanca

Good luck. How bout a pic of the fella?

If *I* had to name a horse, his name would be FEARFUL because I'm fearful of horses! :scared: It's true! :guilty:

Whatever you do, do NOT name it after RickinNYC.

He almost forgot my name and I was going to name a fish after him.

Instead of Jack Black, you should name him Blackjack. That was the name
of a wonderful horse I used to ride when I was a kid and took lessons.

You could still call him Jack or B.J.

I wanna see pictures! :)
My favorite horse names are:
Apache (cuz that's my horsey's name)
Jinx (because I rode a horse named jinx for lessons. he died around a year ago)
Buckeye
Shotgun
Poncho
Beau (bo)
Ollie
Out of the ones on here, I really like Pippen.

SERIOUSLY??!!! Nobody thought Hershey was a good name for a dark brown horse???? Hello, is this mike on?? Can anyone hear me?? :rotfl2:

How about............
Bliss

That was my horses name. I had to have her put down last year after having her be a part of my life for 20 years.

If the horse wasn't for the children you could name him "Hot to Trot".

Otherwise, I like Bullseye. I also like the name Tater...I used to work on a horse farm and they had a horse named Tater that would run to see me every time I drove up.

I am usually very good at this, but I think I need your help! We just got a new horse donated to my farm for use in our Special Olympics program. He's super cute, with a smart and sweet disposition. He is a dark bay (for those of you not familiar with horse color terminology, this means he is a VERY dark brown...almost black, with a black mane and tail, black legs and a light brown muzzle). Dh and I tend to name all of our horses and other pets after characters on the Simpsons (we have a Homer, Mr. Burns, Milhouse, Itchy, Scratchy etc). However, the head of the Sp. Olympics doesn't particularly care for human names for the horses  . The horse's current name is "Rocker" because of his rocking chair-like canter. We all agree that name has to go! We' d accept Disney names too!

I so far like the following:

Jack (because his coloring reminds me of a mule...and mules are called "jacks". Plus it's a cute name and seems to suit him. AND DH and I are total Jack Black fans).

Ralphie (after Ralphie Wiggum on the Simpsons)

Stewie (after Stewie Griffin on "Family Guy")

Brego (he looks like Aragorns horse, Brego from LOTR)

Suggestions made by my students:
Brownie (boring, but he does look like brownie batter in color!)

Some more suggestions guys!!! We have Sp. Olympic practice tonight and I need a name for him before the athletes show up. Otherwise if I have to let the kids/athletes name him, we'll wind up with a horse named "Ketchup" or "Fire Truck", bless their hearts.
Wow as soon as I saw your first name I had to submit mine since it is the same! My first horse was a horse named Jack and actually it was Cracker Jack.and he too was the same color. I have many fond memories of that guy! He also was a dark bay with black mane and tail.......so my vote goes to Jack!

I love that name! That was the name of my first horse. I am so sorry you had to have your baby put down.....I dread that. Truly I do.

I like
Spirit
Destiny
Dakota
Bandit
Chance
Harley
Carob
Brown sugar
Braveheart
Cisco
Trot (named after trot nixon on red sox)
Damon (after that sellout Johnny)
Big Papi (after David ortiz)

Good luck! :cheer2:

How about Sarge after Sargent Shriver who was very involved in Special Olympics development?
