Anybody have any great ideas for a name for a teenage rock band? My nephew (15) has just formed a band with three of his friends, and their music sounds pretty good. But they are having a hard time coming up with a name. We'd love to hear your suggestions!

My son was going to start a band (pipe dream) and name it "Luke, We Are Your Fathers." My other son just told me yesterday he wanted to start a band and name it "Rocking a Sunburn" (which made me think about the sunshine on my shoulders song, thus my question about it on here).

Another:

Boiling Walter - a typo I saw once. They meant to type "boiling water".

Pipe Dream is actually kind of a good name!

OMG, I can always think of good names for rock bands, but now my mind is blank. I got started when Dave Barry used to have his humor column and he would say something off the wall (but relevent) and he would always put in parenthesis "that would be a good name for a rock band". And I guess from then on, everytime I heard something cool or unusual I would think "hmm, that would be a cool name for a rock band". So if I were your son, I would just tell him to pay more attention to everyday conversation, even if it's on tv. You'd be surprised how many things we say all the time we don't pay attention to. The most important thing is that it doesn't sound contrived, like "The Rockers" or something.

I've always wanted to see a band with the name:

The Salmon Controversy!

In high school I knew a few guys who were in a band called "Emanon" -- no name spelled backwards. I thought that was :thumbsup2

My best friend and I in highschool wanted to start a band called Steven Delicious. It was our take on Alice Cooper. Unfortunately, the only instruments we played were saxaphone and piano, not much condusive to rock and roll. :sad2:

Peanut Butter Conspiracy is the name of a Jimmy Buffett song. My son is in a band named Kickin' Bear. It was already named when he joined. His friend has a band named Peanut Butter Lovesicle which is a great name. Check out my sons' band on myspace or facebook or youtube.

OK, first a quick brag moment -- my son is in a band called "The Con Men" (Greg CONrad and CONnor B., along with five other guys), and they just won the regional Park District High School Battle of the Bands, and go on to State next week (think happy thoughts next Saturday). A previous band Greg was in was Sitting on a Cactus. The band name I always wanted them to have -- and I bestow it to you -- is Made in China. I agree, look out for interesting phrases. Always wondered how Poi Dog Pondering and Smashing Pumpkins got their names...

I've always thought "NC-17" would be a good name for a rock band. Ya know like the movie rating?

My sister and I have a band called "CONDUCIVE TO VERMIN". We were watching the news one night and they were talking about some building the health department was shutting donw because the conditions had been described as filthy and conducive to vermin.
