:wave2:So my mom is going to go to disney with us in the summer of 2015. She wants to stay in the orlando-disney-kissimmee area. She will have her van. She wants a kitchen, but would settle for a partial kitchen to save dollars. It will be her, and her husband and three kids. wheelchair bound son 33, son-10 daughter-9. my mom's last trip was in 2000. so its been awhile. She's hopeing to stay for around 100 or less a night. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. my husband and i aways book disney for our family but since she has that 5th person and wants a kitchen. the price for a disney hotel would be way more then she wants to pay. I think she wants to do universal too.

I'll just begin this conversation because there are lots of people smarter than me on these boards. First, the Orlando-Disney-Kissimmee area in my mind are 3 separate and distinct areas. I think it would easier to know if Mom wants to be a) really close to Disney b) really close to Universal c) really close to Sea World...that sort of thing. I'm guessing that since you will be down there too and staying inside Disney, she may want to be close to you. There are lots of 2 bedroom condo's that sound perfect for Mom's needs. Believe it or not, $100/night is not a deal breaker...there will be units available at that price. I will tell you that in the Disney area I have stayed at Sheraton Vistana Resort and Wyndham Bonnet Creek in 2 bedroom/2 bathroom units. I found our best prices for Sheraton Vistana Resort (not Villages) on www.mousesavers.com. For Wyndham Bonnet Creek, our best pricing came from www.vacationstratergy.com Truth be told, now that I'm thinking about it, summer travel may demand some higher rates but it shouldn't be too far out of budget. Anyway, both of the resorts mentioned are well appointed, full kitchens, laundry, etc. If they ended up being the same price, I'd tilt my head towards Wyndham Bonnet Creek for the convenience of getting to you inside WDW. www.vrbo.com is a great resource. www.tripadvisor.com will help you get feedback and unbiased reviews on resorts you're considering. Just some ideas. Happy planning and Happy travels! :3dglasses

We stay at Residence Inn in Lake Buena Vista and it's a decent location for Disney and Universal and SeaWorld. I would say Disney is the closest.

You can get a two bedroom with up to 4 beds and there's a sofa bed in the living room. There are 3 TVs and 2 bathrooms and a full size kitchen. This resort has a wonderful hot breakfast. It's superb. Three times a week they offer an evening reception that is easily a meal. They include wine and beer, too. Now, you times this by 5 people and that's really a good deal.

They will charge about a $150/night without a discount. If you have AAA you can get at least 10% off or if you are willing to lock in your dates they advertise up to 25% off, but that deal is non-refundable.

With a condo you have to make all the meals or go out. It takes time to cook, too. That's time you don't use in the parks. Park tickets cost money, as well. Meals are high priced in Orlando if you are going to restaurants. Usually, we can go on the breakfast we eat at the resort all day long and not be hungry in the parks. We do eat a serious breakfast; so, it lasts all day. I've seen people take food from the breakfast and evening reception back in their room.

There's a decent swimming pool there.

There's a Residence Inn by SeaWorld, too and it would offer the same perks and it would be a little cheaper at that location.

She could easily find a 2 or 3-BR condo with full kitchen for under $100/night. Check out vrbo.com and just dive in and start reading about all of the different resorts available and see what matches her requirements for location, amenities, etc.
