No matter what shoes DH wears, every time we go to Disney he gets terrible blisters. He has tried moleskin. Nothing seems to help...any suggestions??;)

What about smart wool wicking socks? Would that help? I use them for snowboarding know they make them for hiking. They pull moisture away so if it is a wet issue that might help.

For rubbing, they have shoes that are well broken in. What about teva full cover sandles?

Good luck!

Hi. I once read, about putting deoderant on your feet to help prevent blisters.Well last summer I picked up a new pair of sandles (a kind I always buy). I put deoderant on my feet untill I wore the shoes in, and tada, no blisters:thumbsup2

I've been there. I was a foot abuser - day hikes in tennies, athletic socks in hiking boots, cheap "worksocks" in my workboots. I did the crime and did the time with moleskin, bandaids, nu-skin...and lots of pain.

But I discovered the secret...Good socks and good shoes.

I swear by Smartwool socks. It's hard to cough up the $15 plus a pair but they are well worth it (the white shorties aren't that much). I discovered them years ago when I was wearing logging boots and trudging up and down mountains on forest fires. There's just no place for cheap socks when you expect your feet to do real work. In my opinion the same goes for shoes. Sure I have sandals and I'll take them to Disney in ...35 days... but they stay at the resort. I may be on vacation, but my feet aren't. I'll trot out my trusty New Balance cross trainers.

A nice foot powder for the end of the day is good too - especially if hubby plans on staying in the same room with the family.

I'm not setting any fashion trends, but my wife does let me out of the house which says something. Hey - I've been dressing myself since I was thirty.

BODYGLIDE! BODYGLIDE! BODYGLIDE!

It is similar to the deodorant idea but it is made for preventing blisters and chaffing. We tried it last year and loved it.

Yes, Yes, Bodyglide::yes:: . It was the absolute best thing we have ever used to prevent blisters. We would have never made it at WDW without using Bodyglide and you can bet we will be using it again this June!!:thumbsup2

Used to get blisters no matter what special cool max socks or walking sneakers I tried. Then it got a little better with good walking sandals but I still got a blister on my baby toe.

Then I bought Bodyglide AND my Teva Pretty Rugged leather sandals and I haven't gotten a blister in at least 4 trips now.

Good luck!

I used to get such bad blisters that I cringe now just thinking of it. I wanted to wear cute sandals, but now I break out the heavy duty socks and my favorite sneakers and I might not look too cute, but I have energy to run all day and no aching feet.

What about flip flops? My hubby used to get blisters with sneakers but now wears flip flops and has no problems at all. DD and I wear them too.

I don't get blisters anymore since I've started wearing Crocs. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 But, when I didn't wear them, and I developed blisters (or hot spots), I would put on one of Band-Aids Blister (Band-aids) and they worked great! They would stay on for several days and they have great cushioning. They aren't cheap (about $5-6 for 6, or so, I think) but if you have a blister, they are priceless. :cloud9: I've never tried moleskin since I could never find it in the stores and now that I finally bought some, I don't need it (thanks Crocs!)

That's what helped me.

Do you use the body glide with socks and sneakers or sandals and w/o socks?

Bodyglide with or without socks. You have to always wear comfortable shoes with good support when doing a great deal of walking. Crocs, Clarks, or good pair of tennis shoes are your best bet.

My DH wore Bodyglide with his socks and tennis shoes and never got any blisters. He also used it without socks while wearing his sandals and yep, no blisters:thumbsup2 . I, on the other hand, thought I didn't need it my first day because I had already broke in my Crocs and guess what, I got a blister:rolleyes2 . I then put on Bodyglide and my blister didn't bother me nor did I get anymore. You just do so much walking and sweating that even the most comfortable shoes can cause blisters but with Bodyglide you have a better chance of not getting any.:yay:

Ok, so colour me stupid here...do you just roll this on the bottoms of your feet, or on top of your toes too, or what??

More info please, and where do you get it? I am in Canada? and if you sweat do you have to re-apply it?

Steph

Comfy, broken in shoes or sneakers and BODY GLIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He justs rolls it on his feet with special attention to the areas where he gets blisters and he should be fine. I used to get crippling (literally) blisters on my pinky toes - now my tootsies are peachy keen!

I don´t know if they sell it in Canada, but I know we can´t get it in Mexico, so I buy it off Amazon and it waits for me in the hotel.
