HELP!!! My computer has a worm!

All my computer does all day is try to send some weird email. McAfee constantly warns me of "potential worm activity" I tried to scan for viruses but the system shuts down. I tried windows update but this darn worm won't allow me to. I tried to clean my disk drive and the system shuts down! I can't seem to find any help on the McAfee site. I called the number that I finally found on the website and get a recording that the phone number was diconnected!!! I'm so frustrated. I have tried so much but it so hard because the pop up window warning me of the worm activity is always there! As soon as I press "Stop this e-mail" another pops up after it!

Am I doomed to take this stupid thing back to the PC doctor?? What good is this McAfee for if it didn't stop this worm??? I'm so frustrated.

Try rebooting into safe mode and running McAfee from there.

OK...I'll try that. as soon as I remember how. Thanks for helping. I'm reallly at my wits end.

Shutdown the computer and restart the computer press F8 until it come to a menu asking if go into safe mode.

Well, I just restarted after the safe mode scan and I'm fairly certain that did the job! Thanks everyone.

I thought I was updating and doing everything right. Guess I missed a step somewhere. What a pain. I thought I was going to

Nope, no mass emails so far! yippee!!!
