Once again for our trip DBF is starting to have twitches about the "no mt dew" at wdw....last year we actully rented a car, stayed off site our first night got the mt dew , checked in at AKL in the am, and returned to the care to alamo(I think its almao) on site...this year DBF agreed to do Magocal Express but we still must find some dew.....soooo after that lengthy explanation (I aplologize) here are my questions...and FYI I do not want to use Garden Grocers just for soda sooooooooooo

1) is there anywhere in MCO that sells dew? For example in Pittsburgh we have a Rite Aid that would have it, but when I looked on the MCO website, there appears to be nothing like that in MCO, an to be honest when I arrive at MCO I am one of those mad hikers that just want to get to the park, so I never have time to observe...

2) if we woukd walk over to one of the DTD disney hotels, are there any stores near there or perhaps gift shops in the hotel that sell Mt Dew?

I am sure this thread makes him sound like a huge Pain in @** but he is a doll an follows my WDW planning an obsessions like a trooper, and Mt Dew is truly his crack, I don't think he could survive a week without. Thanks, in advance for your help!

I don't have enough knowledge to provide a local solution. If all else fails maybe you could mail yourself a "care package" that contains a six pack of the plastic bottles or cans. Would six 12 to 24 ounce containers satisfy the need?

BTW............I understand the need. If WDW was a Pepsi Cola park we would also bring our own Coke. We also love Mt Dew........just not Pepsi Cola!

I actually packed some Dr. Peppers in my luggage last year because I knew I'd have withdrawl. lol.. On our way to the ME, I saw a store with a cooler with Pepsi products in it. So there was last year a place at MCO that sold Mnt. Dew.

Thanks for your responses, I didn't think you were allowed to pack soda in checked luggage, am I incorrect?

Checked luggage is ok...you just can't carry it on It might be heavy though

No it is allowed. I had 4 20oz bottles. I put them in a large ziploc bag but none of them leaked.

AHH! Do they not have Dr Pepper at WDW? We go for the first time next month for almost 8 days, I cant handle that! :confused3

No, they don't. They only have Mr. Pibb. I took a bottle with me to Le'Cellier and people stopped by the table asking me where I got it. I could have made some money if I'd taken an extra bottle. Since we are staying at Pop this time and won't have a fridge, I don't think I'll take any this time. :sad2: Gonna be a rough week.

There are three Hess gas stations on site that have mini marts which should sell Mt. Dew. (I guess you could always call to ask if they carry it to be sure.)Two of these are pretty easy to walk to. One is across the street from Down Town Disney on Lake Buena Vista Blvd. If you exit Disney buses at the DTD bus stop in the middle of DTD you could cross the street at the light and be here in 10 minutes or so. The other walkable location is across from the Boardwalk parking lot.

The third Hess location is next to the car care center out side the MK parking lot. This would be difficult to get to without a car. I only mention it in case you hop in a cab to deal with this task. Depending on where you are staying this might be closer.

I know there are gift shops at MCO that do sell soft drinks in bottles. I got stuck waiting for a delayed flight at MCO last month with two kids in tow. We bought a couple of soft drinks but I don't recall if Mt. Dew was sold here.

When I asked last year, I was told that the two Hess stores within walking distance do not sell Pepsi products. Maybe those people were wrong.

I work at MCO...the only place I have seen Pepsi products is the Panda Express, and they are not in bottles...

I do not see why the Hess would not have them. Worst comes to worst, you can always walk out to where the Crossroads is and go to the super $$ Goodings..

I have the same problem, I have a hubby that loves Mt Dew and a MIL that loves Pepsi. So I am biting the bullet and just ordering a bunch through Garden Grocer as a "Surprise" for them. **PIXIE DUST** :rotfl2:

You can place an order through Garden Grocer and have most kinds of pop, water, snacks, etc. delivered right to your resort room. I think they have a $50 minimum but that's not hard to reach. Their prices are reasonable. You place your order prior to your trip and it will be there when you set it up to be delivered.

Oh these mt dew fiends LOL...I ask for a diet soda, dont care what it is lol...anyway, thanks for all the responses I really appreciate it. Does anyone know how far the walk to this goodings place is? and what DWD hotel is it near?

Its about a 2 mile round trip walk from DTD...I have done it with the hubby. Not that bad. I think the closest hotel to it would be the Best Western. Its a short walk from there, but still easily doable from DtD as well.

That would be a LONG walk from DTD to Goodings; really wouldn't plan on doing it. Plus you'd have to lug it all the way back. And Goodings is hyper expensive. Your best bet, if Hess doesn't carry it, is to ship a box or use a taxi.

wow you have all been so helpful thank you, I think I am going to ship...I for some reason didnt think I was allowed to pack in a suitcase or that you could ship in luggage....

I checked at the Hess station by The Boardwalk last night (10/16). They had no Mt. Dew. I was told that the Hess stations on property are not allowed to sell Pepsi products. Wow, I had know idea about this when I suggested this. Sorry, it's amazing the things you learn on this board.

I guess you're going to have to pack it or have it delivered.

When are you going? Maybe a fellow DISer could pick you up some if they are stopping at a grocery store?
