I have been buying and buying Disney scrapbooking materials for over a year now, and have only done a few pages. Help motivate me! Our summer trip recently got cancelled, so please tell me how to motivate myself to work on scrapbooking. I have invested sooo much money now! I need to do something so I don't feel like I have wasted a lot of money!! Thanks for all the help! You all always have the answers! :flower:

Sounds like me. I LOVE to buy materials and spend most of my time doing just that rather than scrapping. Although I can justify the buying since I'm fairly new at scrapping and need the materials.
I'm sorry about your trip cancellation :sad1: but maybe you can put some time into scrapping your past trips to relive your experiences. Make an appointment with yourself once a week (or however often you can manage) and keep the appointment. Set aside specific time where nothing will distract you, and just sit down and start scrapping. I'll be :cheer2: you on!

When I'm out of inspiration I head over to 2ps, pick a layout that I love and copy it. It always ends up triggering some new original ideas.

I find that going to a Crop every other month or so keeps me motivated. Usually about the time I'm starting to slack off, it'll be time to go to a Girl's Night Out Crop. There are usually 10 or so of us there, most with kids, so inevitably someone is scrapbooking their WDW vacation (okay, I'll admit, it's usually me!) so there's one good source for inspiration. Our rules: you do actually have to do some scrapbooking (gossip is fine, just SB while doing it!) & no guilt trips about pigging out on pizza, chocolate, soda, or chips. We encourage sharing of tools and ideas. If you don't have a group of friends that SB, check out your local scrapbook store.

When I am in your situation (which happens often!) I pick out my favorite picture from the trip and plan a layout around it. That usually get me going and I often get several other pages done to accompany it.

I also flip through my old scrapbooking magazines for ideas of things I want to try and find the pictures to use for those specific new techniques.

Good luck!

Kathy

Can you go to a crop? I find that usually jump starts me after a lull. Just organizing all my stuff and knowing that I am working on one book.
If not maybe just sit down and start. Sounds harsh but sometimes I think when you come back from Disney you have WAY too many pictures! Or so it seems. Just stacks and stacks! So I make mini stacks. So I can feel like I accomplished more if I just finish one day.
Good luck!

If you can't get away for a crop what about inviting a friend or two in? Making it a girls day in? And then working on those photos from prior trips can help you imagine you're at WDW....maybe?

Briana,

Here is the REAL reason I am so motivated...I have DS graduating from high school next spring and DD is 2 years after that. I've finally accepted I won't have everything done, but if I can at LEAST have high school done I'll be happy! Can you rent a senior?
