HELP!!!!!! More Disney Dreams to fulfill! 09/04 Exciting news!

Key West is looking mighty good , the pix of the cats let me know of 1 individual we would not be taking:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Sounds like a great plan for Day 4 Karin. We will be doing pretty much most of that stuff the day before (with the exception of relaxing on your balcony) :rotfl:

Moi?? :rotfl: Guess you meant someone else...but I am dealthy allergic to cats. :(

It all looks and sounds so wonderful, Karin. Heaven on earth!:goodvibes

Do you know if any or which cruise ships will be in port while you are there?

Key West looks so pretty:)

Yum, your light lunch looks yummy.:thumbsup2

It IS very pretty and very relaxed and I really love our hotel there. So beautiful - so I guess we will spend some time there too! ;)

I just love the Key Lime Pie on a stick - very messy to eat, but sooo good! :goodvibes

NO, make sure your animal "lover" does not go there, as there are a lot of stray cats. We love them, but you would have to do a lot of "head turning". :rotfl2:

We usually do the sightseeing thing the first day of our stay there. So nice to be a typical tourist - and the little trolleys are fun! :thumbsup2
And as tired as I feel at the moment (only one more week until the end of the school year :woohoo:) we will spend A LOT of time relaxing on balconies with a beverage in hand. :rotfl2:

Hm, if you are allergic to cats you better stay away from Key West. There are lots of felines around and I guess they are part of why we love it there so much - we LOVE cats!!
Otherwise a trip to Key West is a trip to relaxation heaven. :cloud9:

I love the pictures! Curious though... is there a walgreens pharmacy in an old theater? :)

Yes, there is a Walgreens in an old movie theater! :rotfl2:

Do you know if any or which cruise ships will be in port while you are there?

If I remember correctly there will be two cruise ships one day and one cruise ship the other day. I think they are Carnival, unfortunately NO Disney ships in port :sad2:

Summer vacation 2012,
Key West, WDW, back to back cruises on the Disney DREAM, and another week at WDW.

Day 5:
Key West

Again I hope we will be able to sleep in a bit and that we will leave our room at around 9am.
We are then heading to Simonton Street for breakfast at Sarabeth’s. I discovered this restaurant on the internet a few years ago and we fell in love with it. So, after a perfect breakfast

we will just walk along Duval Street

and check out some of the shops and hopefully find some nice “Crazyshirts”.
I guess, some Key Lime Pie on a stick

IMG_2251.jpg

will be consumed and in the early afternoon we will head back to the resort to make use of the pool

IMG_2364.jpg

and the beautiful grounds. I guess a little bit of packing up will be done as well, as we are heading north the next day.
In the evening we will try to get into Pepe’s Café,

another restaurant I have found on the internet and which’s menu looks intriguing to me.
I guess we will spend some time out on the balcony

with an adult drink in hand, before we need to get everything ready for our departure the next day.

Day 6:
On the road again ......

Another day on the road is ahead of us. After enjoying the view

and the balcony one last time,

IMG_2413.jpg

we will then stow our luggage in the trunk, check out and wave goodbye to our heavenly retreat.
Breakfast will be at Turtle Kraals again.

Again, we have had breakfast there before and loved it.

The food is delicious and you cannot beat the view of the marina.

Once we have sufficiently filled our bellies we will get on the road towards Miami and Fort Lauderdale.

Knowing how we are we will stop quite a few times along the way to enjoy the view and explore a few shops.

Around midday we should have reached Marker 88 and the restaurant of the same name,

at Fort Lauderdale for dinner. Once we have stuffed ourselves silly, we will return to our hotel and get comfy on the balcony on our lounge chairs with an adult beverage in hand.
I believe we will make it an earlier night as we have another long drive ahead of us the next day.

I absolutely love reading your TR's!!!

I've never been to Key West but it does look so relaxing.

Can't wait to read more :thumbsup2

Now you are really getting to me as Judy has decided when we do our Family Cruise in 2014 ( unfortunately not Disney) she wants to leave from Ft Lauderdale as her co worker told her the hotels were cheaper !! So I will be picking your brain as she wants to spend the night before there !!!

I would be glad to help you as much as I can, Rosie. Only downside - I have yet to find a cheap hotel at Fort Lauderdale. :rotfl2:
We love to stay oceanside/oceanfront, so I guess these hotels are always a bit more expensive, but the ones we have stayed at so far were far more expensive than similar hotels in Miami.
