Oh no! Darn airfare. I am not sure what is going on... but it sure seems as though this time last year was a bit better than it currently is. I hope you get your flight and can go!!

Don't know what's up ... but all that is available at the moment (can't book yet! ) is Businessclass ...... we will see. Guess it will be Saturday until we can finally decide.
We weighed our other options, like low cost carriers, but they are charging what I would pay for a flight to Florida and that is a NO thanks for me.
Then driving ...... it would be an 11 hour drive and we would more or less loose two days travelling, so I am not sure we WANT to do that. But again, Saturday we will be able to tell, one way or another.

Well, that's not good news!!

Fingers crossed and loads of Dust that just very doable flights open on Friday!!

And the saga continues ............

Today the question arose ..... will we have a hotel room?????????????

When I got home I had a phone call from a number I didn't recognize. I was thinking what it could be as I do NOT call back if I don't know the number. I just could not figure it out and thought that maybe something in connection with our hotel reservations could be up. (It ended up being a swiss number, not my cousin's so I am thinking it is someone trying to sell me something.)
So I went and pulled up our reservations for the Disneyland Paris trip and low and behold I cannot pull up the one for Citea (or main villa resort). Turns out that another large group has taken over Citea and my reservation number no longer works.
So I call their toll free Austrian number and get someone who SPEAKS German but does NOT understand a word I am saying and tells me repeatedly that Citea is NOT their hotel. Takes about 5 minutes until he checks on his computer and finds out it IS one of their hotels, but he cannot find the reservation in the system either!

So I hang up, my aunt calls me on Skype and I cannot follow up right away, so while we talk I type a short notice to the hotel asking them to confirm my reservation IF it is still there.
An hour later, when my aunt hangs up and since I didn't have any news I called the hotel in France and finally got the nicest employee, who DID confirm my reservation!!!!!!!!!!

So, yes, after a lot of nerves, we DO have a reservation, so please keep your fingers crossed we get the flights as well.

Well, at least the room chaos was cleaned up right away - got a new confirmation just a few minutes ago!
Now it would be nice if we could find a flight.

Okay, flying out on Friday is out!

The only flight we could take is at 20 to 3pm and I only get off work at quarter to 2. No way are we going to make it to the airport in 55 minutes.
So we are going back to our original plans and trying to get a flight out on the 28th.

Got everything crossed here! I'm sure all will be well!

Thank you for your pixie dust! No, train is not an option. I checked and it would take longer than using the car (would have to change trains twice ) and it is VERY expensive too.
We should know about the flights pretty soon though.

GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!


Today one minute after midnight I logged into my airmile account and yippie, they did have the flights available that I had had my eye on in the first place.
They were not available at their lowest rate (which is Economy fly smart), so since we both had enough miles we are now flying in style .......

BUSINESS CLASS

Speak of going to Paris in style.
We were even able to pay for taxes in airmiles, so we are actually flying for FREE - every expense paid!!!!!!!

Cheap little me had to figure out how much business tickets would cost per person and they are


1335,65 Euro (1745 $!!!!!!!! per person) ...... oh, how I love to save!!!

So, tomorrow I will update our travel plans and post the changes. I guess it's time for bed ....... 12.50am!

You have to pay tax on your airmiles? We don't here AFAIK, at least I never did.

We are VERY excited! Staying up until after midnight really paid off as one of the flights we are on was no longer available when I got up this morning.

I might have phrased that improperly .....
Booking with airmiles has two booking steps. Step one you choose your flight and pay with your airmiles (regular - more points but up to 11 months and 2 weeks in advance, fly smart = half the points of regular, but only available 2 weeks prior to flight), step two are the taxes on the FLIGHT!!! Now these nowadays can be more than the actual flight. They charge 15000 miles for the taxes. We had enough miles to pay for both, the flight and the taxes, so that makes the flight absolutely free.

We are very happy too! We have been to DLRP very often and we could easily go at another time, but with the new 20th anniversary celebration we really wanted to go now. And now we actually WILL!

We even bought a new video camera and Tom ordered a new lens for his camera too! We hope it will arrive in time.
