Okay--scenario: We are a party of 8-- 6 adults 2kids (one 10 the other 16 months at time of the trip). Of this group, there are 5 newbies (everyone other than myself, DH & DS). All the planning has been left up to me, which I kind of like (I like to be in control). Well we arrive 10/30 in the a.m.--(we are staying off site), we don't intend to do a park because we need to leave our houses at 4 am to catch the plane. The next night we have MNSSHP. Well, this will be the newbiew first glimpse of MK-- which is okay but not what I hoped for. I have an "off day" planned for the day after MNSSHP-- figuring everyone would be tired. If we don't go to a park on the same day as MNSSHP we will have to do all our park days pretty much in a row.

So-- do you think it's possible to go to MK, at opening, on the day we do MNSSHP. Stay until right after the 3pm parade. Go back to the hotel, clean up, eat dinner, then come back? Or is it just going to be too much? I am really in a quandry here. I need to plan something for either that day or the day after MNSSHP. Also, it is a must to go to the parks at opening for us. I am a firm believer that we get the most done in those initial 2 hours.

Any suggestions would be great.

I suggest going to MK for rope drop as you like, but leaving much earlier in the day, maybe after a quick counter lunch or returning to your off-site location for lunch and a swim/nap. There's a great special Halloween parade in MNSSHP, and you could park hop back to MK later (watch from Liberty Square) in the week.

Kilee,

Going to MVMCP or MNSSHP can cause "park burn out" if not done right with a little planning...

Our first MVMCP , we stayed until closing , arrived back at our room @ 1am and were up for earlier entry a few hours later...We never felt the same afterwards as we couldn't seem to catch up with the lost sleep the rest of the trip.

I would suggest...planning a short day @ AK and taking the rest of the day to relax and then head to MNSSHP that evening and skip early entry the next morning.

I would also suggest if you have park hoppers...don't do MK the same day as MNNSHP, but just enter MK before the park closes and pick up wristbands and head back to Fantasyland until the party starts....other wisewise going to the MK all day just to return that night might get a little overwelming.

Hope this helps you in your planning...

We started out our MNSSHP day last year by visiting MK first thing in the morning. It was our first day there (we had arrived around dinnertime the day before). We were two adults and two kids under 4 at the time. We did Fantasyland, the railroad, HM & POC before heading back to our resort around 2:00. The kids fell asleep in the car on the way back, we put them in bed and they slept until 5:00 ish. We gave them PB&J sandwiches, dressed them in their costumes and were back at MNSSHP by 7:15. We enjoyed the party until about 11:30 before heading back to our resort to bed. It was great! The kids were great and we planned a quiet morning the next morning with a big breakfast in and were ready to go around noon the next day!

As of right now it is planned as follows:

Thurs-- arrive-- dinner @ Chef Mickey's early to bed (since we are going to be up real early for the plane)

Fri-- MK-- opening until right after 3pm parade-- then back to MNSSHP 7pm

Sat-- Relaxing day---

We will be doing Universal, Epcot, & MGM later in the week. With 2 more "off" days in between them. The biggest problem is the 5 newbies will only have the 3 day one park/one day passes (they will not be returning anytime in the future and will not get hoppers). Therefore, cutting MGM or Epcot in 1/2 isn't going to work. Nor will returning to MK for what was missed. Waiting until Sunday to do our first park day won't work either. If we wait until Sunday, we'll have to do 3 parks in a row. I don't think everyone (DH has bad leg, my dad some mild knee issues) can do the walking for 3 in a row. Normally when DH and I go, we do 2 parks and a day off and continue like that for the vacation.

I just really don't know what to do. I also don't think anyone wants to pay the money to get in and only be at the parks until noon. We may have to try the 3 in a row.

What day are you going to the MNSSHP?

OK- Halloween Day is a Friday. AK has early entry that day. What if you went to AK getting there for EE and staying only to about noon then going back to the hotel until it's time for MNSSHP? That would give you PLENTY of resting time- and you did say you would be going to bed early the night before. You should be able to everything at AK by noon if you get there for EE. I didn't know AK had EE, but I read on another site that Friday is AK's day! If you go here

http://wdwig.com/emhour.htm

you can see what rides will be open for that EXTRA MAGIC HOUR- which is, in essence what Early Entry was. Will that work for you?
