I need your help and advise. I could have sworn that I banked my remaining points for my 2009 use year on March 3rd. I had completed all my transactions then and thought I had banked my points. Either I did something wrong or I hit a computer glitch, but when I checked my points just now, I realized that I the 2009 points had never been banked. I have a December Use Year. I know that I can rent points out, but this is really the last resort.

So I wonder if there is another way to not lose the points. I assume if I wanted to use the points for a Disney cruise, the points would come out of the Use Year in which the sailing date is and not when the booking was made.

Is there anything else that I could do to use the points from this Use Year next year?

People have said that MS has been known to grant people a one time exception to the rule.

You can give them a call and see if they will do that for you.

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. I will ring them as soon as I get home. I am on a train at the moment. We will see what they have to say. It would be wonderful if they could fix this.

I am pretty sure that you can deposit the points into RCI.

Thanks, I thought that I had previously heard or read that this could be done, but could not find any information on this. Fortunately it was not necessary in the end. I rang Member Services, explained what had happened and after being on hold for 5 minutes or so, they said that they would bank the points for me as a one time only goodwill gesture. I have definitely learned my lesson. In future I will ring Member Services to bank my points. This was the first time that I tried to do it myself online. The previous years, I always contacted Member Services to do this.

Happy that it worked out for you.

MS should give you a banking confirmation number after you bank points. In the future, ask for it and write it down. After you hang up, check the members' website to make sure the transaction "went through". That will give you peace of mind since you will not be able to take advantage of the one time exception perk again.

I banked the points online. I still don't know if the problem was their end or mine. The nice CM at MS told me that when I do this, I should get a page with a confirmation number as well as an email confirmation. In future I will bank my points by calling Member Services and then double-checking that it has been successful online. Quite apart from this being a one time exception, I never want to go through this panic again.

Yeah! I'm so glad they were able to help!!! :)

Wow, I had this happen too. I'm going to try and call and see if I can get a waiver too. That would be great because I could really use the point for a trip in January. I'll let you know if it works.

DVC Member Services is generally very helpful with banking points past the banking deadline. You may need to ask for an "exception" but they will do their best.:cool1::banana:

They volunteered this last year for when I had a couple of points to transfer over. I didn't know this was one time. If I knew this I would have saved it for this year when i have a lot more points I want to transfer over!

Not that 1m, aware of.. I always bank thru disney never thru the computer.. Just for thast reason... You will have to sell them.. But you have to 50 posts to Rent/ points on disboards new rule 7/11.. Trying to keep scammers out of the picture...

Meber Services will usually go out of their way to assist you as long as you have not made a habit out of this. Also good to keep a low profile about it since they do not have to do anything in this case
