I need help. We are going to WDW on 9/16 - 9/24.

Originally I had us going to MGM on Sunday, 9/17. I scheduled the Einstein breakfast and the MM Fantasmic package that evening.

This was BEFORE I learned that the Lights, Motor, Stunt show is closed that day and will reopen 9/21. This is the major thing that ds wants to see and we haven't gotten to it in the last two trips, so I really want him to see it. :sad2:

And another thing...I am probably going to cancel my MM Fantasmic package b/c i watched the show on youtube and decided it's too scary for my little ones.

Sooo...should I keep the morning ressie and spend 1/2 a day there and then go back another evening to see the show? The only other day I can really reschedule is our EPCOT day. Should I do 1/2 day MGM and 1/2 day WS on Sunday, and then do 1/2 day FW and evening at MGM on 9/21?

What do the experts say??

Yes, half days are perfect for MGM! there isn't that much to do and see there. As for Fantasmic, the dinner show is a waste of money. The "reserved seating" they give you is worse than the seating the normal guests receive! It's off to the far right and left of the stadium and goes all the way from the first row to the last row so many people sign up for the dinner! Go to MGM eat dinner at one of the restaurants and show up EARLY for fantasmic, an hour and a half is ideal. I know it sounds like a whole lot (it is!) but as a person who never does lines I can guarantee IT IS WORTH IT!!!

One more thing, if you don't want to get moderately wet don't sit in the first 10-15 rows

I completely disagree with this as Disney-MGM Studios is my favorite park. I can always find something to do there and always spend more time there than at any of the other parks. My last trip, this was the only park that I didn't leave to go back to the hotel for a nap because there wasn't enough time for me to do everything I wanted.

I think your idea of doing 1/2 day at Studios and a 1/2 day at WS on Sunday would be great. Then on 9/21 you can either spend 1/2 day at FW and return to Studios for another 1/2 day, or - if you don't find that Studios is your thing or that you did everything that you were interested in there on Sunday, you can spend almost all of your day at FW and then return to Studios for just the last showing of LMA. If you do this, make sure that you grab a Time Schedule for the shows when you're there on Sunday so you know when the last show is!

Kristin - We have the SAME concerns about 9/17 and LMA! I was really bummed to see it's closed for refurb the one day of our vacation we have plans to be there. DS11 would love this show, and I cannot rebook a Fantasmic dinner package for all the tea in China.... :confused3

So, we're considering dropping the ADR at Mama Melrose and touring AK or Epcot on 9/17 and doing MGM on 9/21. Problem is: we have an ADR at Ohana's on 9/21 (our former AK day) and Princess Storybook on 9/18 (the Epcot day). Neither of which do we want to abandon...

Ugh. I've almost resigned myself to missing LMA this time around and having it to look forward to the next time, except that maybe Fantasmic isn't "all that" for my crew, DS11, DD5, and DS18m.

I don't have the answers either, but I share your pain!

LittleRoo, it is not too hard to go back and forth. When you get there check and see what times LMA is showing. Maybe on one of your days you can go over to MGM for just the show. It is a long show, so it is worth the trip. That way you do not have to mess with your ADRs. Although, it may be possible to reschedule O'hana and swap your AK and MGM days - you can always ask.
kstin, how old are your children? If you sit toward the back it is not too scary. I don't think it was as scary as some to the info. I read made it out to be, IMO. I hope you both have a great time and don't forget to wear your LMGMHs! :thumbsup2
