Just got back from MR yesterday, took our 6 year old daughter and 13 year old son off the ship at both ports. PV was our excursion day, we paid for the Las Caletas excursion through Disney. IT WAS AMAZINGGGGGGGG!!!!!!! In Cabo we got off on day 1 and toured the town on foot, but stayed closer to the port because we didn't want to get lost lol I never once felt unsafe, never once felt scared about bringing my kids into Mexico. My kids have been to Tijuana, Ensenada, ( and Los Angeles

) and they survived. It's all about being aware, and also letting your guard down just enough to enjoy yourself while also playing it safe. Is there a chance you could get pick-pocketed or carjacked in Mexico? Of course. But I'm sure the chances are miniscule if you remain in the main parts of town or stay with a
DCL excursion. Is there a chance any of our airline flights could go down in flames? Sure. Will that keep my from flying? No. Could my car get rearended on the freeway tomorrow? Sure. But chances are slim so I continue to drive my car. If you think of all of the thousands of tourists that visit Mexican ports via cruise lines each year, and compare that to the number of people that have truly harmfull experiences, I'm sure you'd discover that way more people come out of Mexico alive than in a body bag. If you have your mind set that certain places are just too scary to visit, then I'm sure nothing any of us say will make you change your mind. IMO, if you don't feel safe, stay on the boat ( but I strongly recommend that Las Caletas excursion!). DCL has so many wonderful ways to keep you busy while in port that you'll still have a great time. I hope that you enjoy your cruise
