Help...Mexican Riveria question

We did the MR in April. We got off at every port. Cabo felt very safe and we would go back there without any hesitation. The other ports did not feel as safe.

This was our 5th Disney cruise and we're a little tired of the Eastern and Western itineraries so we thought we'd try the MR. We love cruising and love the Wonder, but we'd probably not be too interested in going to the MR again.

The safety factor and the cooler weather and lack of swimming and snorkeling options will lead us to other choices.

Good luck with your decision.

:)

We just returned from our trip. We traveled on our own around Cabo and PV. via taxi and water taxi. We are seasoned travelers, therefore know to be aware of surroundings etc. We had no problems in either location felt perfectly safe and actually encountered several ExPats working in both locations.

If you are worried and feel unsafe don't go. There are many Extremely unsafe areas in the USA (and other countries)...however.... Our family will have no problems returning... and booking our excursions off ship again.

As for the Wonder we had a great time. It was our first DCL cruise but not our first cruise. Our Family has decided it was our favorite though!

We had fabulous service in the dining rooms, :cool1:
terrific stateroom service, room service was fast when ordered. We had an issue we had to discuss with Guest Services they were very helpful and understanding.

just my 2 cents worth

oh and ..... "KEVIN" !!! :)

Just got back from MR yesterday, took our 6 year old daughter and 13 year old son off the ship at both ports. PV was our excursion day, we paid for the Las Caletas excursion through Disney. IT WAS AMAZINGGGGGGGG!!!!!!! In Cabo we got off on day 1 and toured the town on foot, but stayed closer to the port because we didn't want to get lost lol I never once felt unsafe, never once felt scared about bringing my kids into Mexico. My kids have been to Tijuana, Ensenada, ( and Los Angeles :rotfl:) and they survived. It's all about being aware, and also letting your guard down just enough to enjoy yourself while also playing it safe. Is there a chance you could get pick-pocketed or carjacked in Mexico? Of course. But I'm sure the chances are miniscule if you remain in the main parts of town or stay with a DCL excursion. Is there a chance any of our airline flights could go down in flames? Sure. Will that keep my from flying? No. Could my car get rearended on the freeway tomorrow? Sure. But chances are slim so I continue to drive my car. If you think of all of the thousands of tourists that visit Mexican ports via cruise lines each year, and compare that to the number of people that have truly harmfull experiences, I'm sure you'd discover that way more people come out of Mexico alive than in a body bag. If you have your mind set that certain places are just too scary to visit, then I'm sure nothing any of us say will make you change your mind. IMO, if you don't feel safe, stay on the boat ( but I strongly recommend that Las Caletas excursion!). DCL has so many wonderful ways to keep you busy while in port that you'll still have a great time. I hope that you enjoy your cruise

We felt safer taking our dds to PV and Cabo then we did taking them to the Straw Market in Nassua. We didn't do any cruise excursions while it MX.
