I am completely lost on what to do here.

Hotwire just posted our trip (air + hotel for 5/10-5/15) for $642 per person, staying at the Dolphin! I am totally excited and ready to jump all over it...HOWEVER...The trip is for DD's 5th Bday and I was really hoping to stay at the CR or Poly but don't want to spend rack rate for it. AND, I would hate to buy this deal when Disney could annound FD or discount rates on rooms.

If we go with the Dophin deal, we would have more $$ to spend on special things for her in the parks.

BUT, there is nothing more magical than riding that monorail through the CR to the Magic Kingdom...

WHAT DO I DO!?! I want this vacation to be extra special!! Do I wait?

:confused3

I would wait.... YOu never know what you will get as far as discounts. I have not stayed at the swan and dolphin but if its not really what you want, you still have time! They are only 5 once.....make it special:) as far as special things in the park, ask for gift cards for xmas or gc for her bday to get stuff at disney!

Welcome to the DIS! How much is airfare and the Dolphin alone for your dates? I never book packages with air and hotels.

I would be inclined to hold off. That is over $1900 for air and hotel for the 3 of you for 5 nights....does not sound like much of a bargain to me...especially when you will still have to eat and get park tickets. We have stayed at the Dolphin in years past a couple of times and it is fine. Rooms are pretty small but nice...just does not have that Disney magic. Personally I would rather stay at a Disney Moderate resort before the Dolphin (and even at rack rate they would be less than what you will be paying at the Dolphin)....and for sure Wilderness Lodge or AKL...which would most likely be available in that same price range you are paying at the Dolphin with this package.

If you buy the package now it is a done deal...by staying at the Dolphin you will not be able to do the dining plan or Magic Express (I think...could be wrong about the ME part) all of which could add to trip expenses. Not to mention the possibility of a room discount or free dining packages that may be available....and you would really want to kick yourself if one of those became available later on.

If you hold off we can all keep our fingers crossed for some pixie dust that would put your dream (poly or CR) into your target price range....but 2nd choice could still be another deluxe (like WL or AKL) for what you would be paying at the Dolphin.

It is a tough call. I say, unless it is a surprise to your daughter, ask her what she'd prefer. With the money you save from the ideas that a couple of the other posters have said, you could afford to use the differences in prices for Bibbity Bobbity Boutique.

I'd hold off on saying that BBB was an option until the decision is made. :rolleyes1

After looking at what I could book separately, it really isn't that great of a deal. SO, I will just wait. Wish I was more patient. A code would be great right about now so I can just book already.

Another resort came into focus today for us besides the CR and POLY (if no code is released) and that will be the Royal Rooms at the POR. Any pros or cons to that Resort as a Mod?

Thats where we are staying!!!!! I cant wait!!!! They look so neat and my 3 lil princesses will love them! I would go with that....your DD would love it!

The Royal Rooms seem like they will be spectacular but do you feel like they look small? I have never stayed at PORS and dont really know what to expect.

All the moderate resort room are about the same size at about 315 square feet, except Caribbean Beach is a little bit bigger at 340 square feet. We are a family of 3 and we are perfectly comfortable in any of WDW's resorts, including the moderates.

You can find more info here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/Resorts/resort-descriptions.htm
