I've lost 60 pounds since July.. well, 70, but I gained 10 back over the holidays. And I can't get back on track. I know what to do.. I just can't seem to do it.

I don't know how to get back on track. Anyone have experience with this? What'd you do to get out of your slump?? I have another 50 pounds to lose to be healthy, and I need to do it!

Congrats on the 70 pounds!! That's wonderful!

Sometimes I think getting back on the wagon is overwhelming. Try picking one thing that you know will be successful--like getting enough water today or getting xx servings of vegetables or getting in a workout. And then move forward from there. Success breeds success.:goodvibes

Did you pick up any particular bad habits that you need to work on--like did you start drinking soda or start snacking in the evenings? Even altering one of those things will go a long way towards losing or gaining. Have you been skipping regular workouts?

Hang in there! You lost 70 pounds! You can do this! You might just need to try some new things to get moving again!:goodvibes

I don't know about your situation however I do know about getting out of a slump because I am in one.

For me I have to actually write a schedule and do it like a job to get going.

My self discipline is at a low point so I cannot just be "free" yet. I have to actually set a time to do xyz at this point.

Great job on the 70 lbs. :woohoo: :cheer2: I think its acceptable to gain over the holidays. I say enjoy and not stress. Last thing we need is added stress on holidays it only contributes to cortisol releases that will fight more against you. You can start with a goal to get that 10 lbs back off. Buy a new workout DVD or clothing or something that will motivate you to use/do activity.

Start back up slowly its hard to change or get new habits over night. And don't beat yourself up over the holiday gain.

Thanks so much everyone!

I have been skipping regular workouts.. and have been tired too. Maybe the fact that I'm not working out is making me tired? I don't know.. it makes me sad!
Oh, and yes, I've been drinking regular Coke! I've NEVER been a regular Coke drinker! I have no idea how that happened.. but either way it's my fault and I take accountability for it.. which I guess helps in the longrun.
I think it's time.. I need to get back on the horse! Time to go pick up a ton of veggies and get to the gym.

All of the support really does help.. especially when DH is sitting around eating chocolate all day and not gaining an ounce! :headache:

My best advice is to start to schedule your physical activity. Whether it is going to the gym, walking, running, yoga, or anything else mark it on the calendar like you would a doctor appointment and treat it as one. There are a lot of days I have to think of that old Dunkin' Doughnuts commercial where the guy wakes up at 5:00 because it is time to make the doughnuts. Some of my friends and I use that saying all the time when we have to do a run or hit the gym and don't want to. You've just gotta make the doughnuts.

If the issue is with over doing the calories start a food journal. If you see exactly what you are eating throughout the day it is easier, in my experience, to hold yourself to your goals.

Good luck. You did it once so you just have to remember what it felt like and get back to it.
