Alright, let me introduce ya'll to my situation. First off, I'm 20. My parents, my brother and his best friend, and my boyfriend and I are all going to Disney for a week in June (around fathers day). (We're stayin at the AKL). My parents, brother and I have been to Disney over 15 times and we're just... addicted :) My boyfriend, however, is 21 and he has NEVER been on ANY vacation whatsoever. So... since he hasnt, I'm absolutely determined to get him addicted to disney and to show him a fabulous vacation while we're there. I'm so excited by all of this and I keep thinking of different places that we could/should eat. This is where my problem is. These are the places I've already made reservations for:

-Chef Mickey's for Dinner(been there tons... I think it would be funny for us to get all the pictures taken with characters)
-Teppanyaki (WS)-never been there... is it good?
-Boma-breakfast buffet- is this good? he loves breakfast food...
-Kona (Poly)- I was thinking that I could make a dinner PS and then we could go sit on a hill and watch the electric water pageant (or whatever its called). I want us to watch that just cause i think its cute, but I wanted somewhere to go for dinner-is Kona the best option?

Anyway... if you all (ya'll... whatever) have any suggestions for changes/additions that I should make, please tell me. Also, any opinions on the above restaurants are certainly welcome:) Thanks a bunch you guys!

Amanda,
First off, I am sure hewill be thrilled to death that you are taking him on this vacation. That being said, I feel you have made great choices so far. I would suggest Le Cellier, Hoop Dee Doo, and Crystal Palace. My wife and I have enjoyed these over the years.

Hi Amanda, and welcome! I would suggest that you try the Liberty Tree Tavern in the Magic Kingdom. Their character dinner is great. We have enjoyed the character breakfast at Donald's Restaurantasaurus in Animal Kingdom, and 1900 Park Fare in Grand Floridian is also good.

Don't forget to get your boyfriend to try all the fun snacks to be had, like Dole Whips, Mickey Premium Bars, all the different counter service restaurants around the World Showcase.

Have a great time, and happy planning!!

Ann

If it is in your budget......the 2 things my bf absolutely loved were...watching the fireworks during dinner at Cali grill and the Spirit of Aloha luau.

Hi Amanda,
When making your ressies make sure to tell them that BF is allergic to seafood. That way if there is anything that is a secondary ingredient to the food he orders they will note not to add it. Disney is great about special diets. My DH is on a manditory no Cholesteral , no fat diet for health reasons and the chief always comes out to greet him and to go over the choices with him and what they can do. If he is a good ole GA boy I would suggest 50s Prime time cafe. And forewarn him the biscuits at WDW aren't like the ones his Mom or Grandma made. LOL the biscuits I have seen there look about the size of Krystal burger if that!
Have a Great Time!!:)

If you want to do dinner at the Polynesian, by all means do it at O'Hana, not Kona. You could ask for a window table, and see the water pageant from the restaurant, if you time it right. Besides, the O'Hana dinner experience is one not to be missed!

I highly suggest Le Cellier, for some reason this seems to be a favorite with the guys in my life.

Kona for dinner is a great choice. The food is wonderful. I think your plan to see the EWP there is a great one.

alright, so I did call and tell them that he's allergic to seafood and I should've told them that I dont eat breads, grains, or starchy foods, shouldnt I? Man I just love the Atkins diet... lol! If ya'll have any more ideas/suggestions I'd love them; but also keep in mind that as 'starving college kids' cheaper is better :)

Try the buffet at Fort Wilderness Campground! It is very reasonable for Breakfast Lunch or Dinner:) you can take the boat over from the MK! I also suggest O'Hana at the Polynesian hotel for dinner one evening - it is more expensive - but worth it :)

Whispering Canyon at the WL is a fun a delicious place to eat! We also enjoyed the Fantasmic Dinner Package when we were at WDW 2 weeks ago. We ate at Mama Melrose's and then watched Fantasmic from very good seats afterward.
