My husband and I will be making a quick trip to Orlando Memorial Day weekend and the only thing I want to do is ride the Mummy!!!

I love all the movies!! However, I am terrified of roller coasters!!!:scared1: I felt sick all day after doing Back to the Future and I afraid of having that feeling again!

I am willing to fight my fear just because I love all things Mummy....maybe.:rotfl:

Please tell me how awesome it is and how much I will kick myself if I come back to PA having not taken the plunge....so to speak!

Any details, tips or votes of confidence will be most appreciated!!!:thumbsup2

Thanks!!

I'm a ride chicken and a roller coaster wimp! Having said that I love the Mummy! Its completely different than Back to the Future (I got sick after being on that ride). If you can do Big Thunder Mountain at WDW you can do the Mummy.

BTTF made me sick as a dog. The Simpons remake is slight better, but I understand your issue with that ride. Mummy is nothing like that and is a great ride, but I'll ride any rollercoaster so your mileage may vary.

At one point you are "launched" pretty fast & it really gets your stomach. It scared the crap out of me (I had no clue what to expect)... I might try it again next month. :)

I'v ridden BTTF once and once was enough. Still stands as probably my least favorite theme park ride.

Mummy, on the other hand, is awesome. I've been known to hit the single rider line several times in a row- it's addicting.

Oh ya. BTTF was a definite pukerator. What coasters have you ridden? We should be able to give you a very good comparison so you will know what to expect!

I agree BTTF was pretty rough.
The Mummy is such a great ride.Go thru the regular line to take in the theming plus it adds to the story line. The luanch is not that bad as long as you know its comming and you will. The coaster part of this ride only lasts a minute or less and does give you some G's.But dont deprive yourself of one of the best rides out there..:thumbsup2

If your a Mummy fan, this ride is like icing on the cake!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you love the movie, you'll love the ride. Its very smooth, not jerky. The themeing is one of the best (if not the best) I've ever seen.

Thanks for all the words of encouragement!

I can definately do Big Thunder Mountain in Disney. I scream the whole time, but I can do it:rotfl:

I guess I just don't like that stomach drop feeling. And after BTTF, I don't like that "I'm gonna puke any minute" feeling!

I think knowing beforehand that there is a fast launch and it only lasts a minute will help with my anxiety.

Thanks again!

BTTF was a simulator and you traveled through time. It was supposed to make you feel woozy. Too much temporal displacement is bad for the body. :3dglasses

ROTM is a roller coaster. It's very smooth, and the only hard parts are the brakes (intentional) and the first curve at the top of the lift hill (also intentional).

I'v ridden BTTF once and once was enough. Still stands as probably my least favorite theme park ride.
The problem I had with BTTF and The Simpsons too for that matter is the same problem anyone 6'2" has...head banging. I always got stuck in the back row and my head constantly hit the sides...not a good feeling for the rest of the day. :headache:
