I am working very hard on my itinerary and need some help with my transportation times.

We are staying in ASMo and will have a car. What is the best way to get to MK, Epcot, MGM, AK? We also will be going to Olivia's cafe and then to dowtown disney after. Is this a hard trip to make? And how long do these trips take.

I am worried i have under budgeted the amount of time it takes to get to and get back from the various places in my schedule, because i really have no idea if the schedul is feasible for my timelines. I looked at the resort map, but i have a feeling the parks and resorts are much more spread out than they look on it.

I was at disney when i was younger, but we stayed off site, all i remember is a parking lot and the monorail.

Any help or ideas would be great!

We have stayed at the All Stars before, and I can say that they usually have very prompt bus service to all the parks. You didn't say what season you will be there and as with everything else, the busier times of year the longer things take. But, they do roll more buses as the attendance rises, so....

The All Stars are pretty far away from most things, so I would plan on around 45 minutes in travel time getting from the resort to the parks. If you do it in less, then you just have more touring time! :flower:

The Unofficial Guide to WDW has some pretty good specs on travel times to and from everywhere, as well as the best (fastest) rout to take.

By the way, we drive to WDW and use their transportation from the moment we get there until the moment we leave. We just find it easier than trying to figure out how to drive everywhere.

thanks tink! We are going may 2-10. So the best way is to take the bus? If we are going to MK, where can we get on the monorail? Would it be easier to drive to olivia's and then on to dowtown disney, or is there another way? What about the days we go to mgm and ak, since they are closer, would it be easier to drive?

I know, i know, so many questions, but with a 4 year old and an 18 month old, i want to be semi-prepared.

I have the unofficial guide on order, but it will not ship until the passporter i ordered with it is available.

Thanks again for any tips or hints!

Early May is a good time to go, much better than during the peak summer time! :cool1:

Disney transportation is very good....they are the best people movers I have ever seen! From the All Stars there is a bus to almost everywhere. You will bus from the All Stars to all the parks as well as Downtown Disney. If you would like to ride the monorail, go to the TTC (Ticket and Transportation Center), you can get to the TTC by bus from any park. Also, if you just want to ride the monorail (and I would! It is an attraction all on it's own!) you can get on it from the MK as well as Epcot. In fact if you are going to park hop, that is the way I would go.

To get to Olivia's you can bus to the closest park then take a bus to Old Key West. Then if you want to go to Downtown Disney, take a bus from Old Key West to there. Their bus service links up everything.

Of course you can drive yourself, but if you think this sounds confusing driving will be worse (and very stressful for the driver). Disney road signs can be confusing for the first time visitor. All the roads look alike and there are trees everywhere, which is great, you sorta feel more secluded, but it does make driving more difficult. Another reason to let them do the driving is when you are tired from a long day in the parks, you can relax on the bus back, much better than trying to find your car, then trying to find your resort! :moped:

You are smart to figure all this out before you go! Keep it up! You will be glad you did when you get there! :wave2:
