My DH, DD3, and I have been planning the trip we are taking in December since March, and I am so looking forward to it. Everyday I have to do something Disney!!! Now after reading some of the threads, I am starting to doubt my resort choice. We chose ASMo for several reasons. We wanted more money to spend on awesome souvenirs, we won't be in the room for the majority of the time, and I thought...hey this is Disney, value there has to be like a Mariott courtyard or hampton inn anywhere else. Now after reading all the threads, I am wondering if i should change to CSR or CBR. Those are really the only two left that are in our budget. Please help me:headache: I would appreciate any feedback.
PS Keep in mind that I am a neat freak and can't even walk barefoot on hotel carpet at the Ritz or The Plaza. I know something is wrong with me:rolleyes:
Thanks y'all:flower3:

You are more likely to hear a bad report on the DIS than a good one. Most people don't take the time to post good reports because that is what we all expect.

Don't let the reports bother you. Many people have a great time at ASMo.

Stick with your plans, don't let opinions tell you what's best for your family. Because just as every family is different so is every opinion. During your trip you'll discover things you'd like to do different or keep the same because they work for your family. Your own experience should be what forms your opinion. So plunge ahead and have a magical time, Dec. is really not far away :woohoo:

The negative reviews always stand out....ignore them(for the most part), and stick to your plans....your choice will work out fine.

A value resort at WDW is nothing like a Marriott - nor is a moderate for that matter. Both value and moderate have outside room access (no indoor hallways) and the rooms are smaller than a Marriott or Hampton Inn. The decor is nice but nothing fancy. The amenities in the room are very basic. What you are paying for is location, atmosphere, and transportation.

We stayed at Pop Century our first stay on property and Wilderness Lodge this time. I must say that my children had just as much fun at WL and both the service and the mousekeeping were the same.....very good. Keep your plans the way they are, you'll be glad you did. Enjoy your trip. :thumbsup2

Get some Mickey mouse slippers and have a ball. You picked your resort very thoughtfully so don't have doubts. For every negative report you will find 10 folks who can't understand what the problem is because they had a fabulous stay. Take it with the provebial grain of salt.

If you don't spend much time at the room I think the values are great.A few years ago we tried AKL and the whole time I was there I was trying to justify spending the extra money. We find the values just that , a great value when it comes to a place to shower and sleep.

Don't change!! (Coming from someone who can't make up her mind) Your DD will love ASMo, and you will probably be just as happy there as a mod. I'm like you.... I don't walk barefoot on ANY hotel carpet, or take baths (showers only) in any $$$ level hotel.

IMO the difference in room quality from value to moderate isn't big enough to justify stretching your budget, you will be happy.:hippie:

You will be fine in ASMo. Don't fret. Just came back fro ASsp and had a ball.

I've stayed at every level resort at WDW...and I love the values. Granted, POP is my favorite, but my stay at Music was just fine. I just prefer the theming at POP! I own DVC at BWV, but if I need to stay someplace other than there, you'll find me at a value resort. I love POR, always have, always will, but for the addtl money, I just don't think the mods are worth it.
You'll love Movies...stick with it. Get some slippers and have a ball!!!

I've posted several times regarding how wonderful our trip to ASMo was! The resort in itself was so wonderful that it was not possible we could ever stay offsite ever again. The theming is out of this world for children! My little one thought the resort was part of the parks!

I would not stay at a moderate until you experience a value and how fun they are for kids. We are staying at CSR next time but only because we want to try different things and relax more on that trip.

I always, always wear flip flops in the room, bathroom and shower because I'm weird about going barefoot. I also have asthma/allergies so the room cannot have smoke, strong air deodorant's etc. The ASMo room was perfect. The resort did not treat me like a PIA when I told them (ahead of time and when we checked in) that it was a serious issue and they just said they would make sure the room was properly cleaned and aired out.

The kids were just awed by the resort, the food court, the posters and music. The huge Buzz and Woody were giant hits with my 3 yr old.

My only problem were the smokers at the pool, everyone was smoking and I had to leave. I am not sure how this works now with the new designated smoking areas.

You will have a wonderful time at ASMo if you go into knowing you only need a place to sleep and when you are there your kids will think you are at an extension of the parks!

Take Care

We don't walk barefoot either. We also bring Lysol wipes for phone, remote, switches and bathroom. Nothing is wrong with you!!
