I am a week away from the time I can start reserving meals and get PS.

I need a little help deciding when to do what, when.

We are staying 5 nights - Thurs 9/23-Tues 9/28

I arrive early Thursday Sept. 23 - should be to the DLH no later than 10:30-11. Should I make any reservations for that day at all?? Maybe Carnation Cafe for lunch while we have a slow late start in the park with trains and Main Street and was thinking we would go get our Potato Head box that first day too so we have it in the room to play with for the week.

I have a premium meal with my package - going to use it at Goofy's kitchen - I was considering doing that right off the bat when we arrive and are waiting for our room to be free. Or the other thought was to make it for Saturday or Sunday around 11/12 after being at MM then to Goofy's then up to room for rest and swimming.

We want to see WOC (picnic) and Fantasmic (Strongly considering dessert pkg - is it worth it with 4 and 6-yr-old boys) - so I need to choose either Fri, Sat or Sun for those ressies.

We are major "show-goers" so will plan to do all those that are offered, ie. Alladin, Jedi, Billy Hill, whatever is on the schedule - Can you make any PS for any of these??

I also want to eat at Blue Bayou once for dinner.

What other priority ressies or pre-paid experiences should I be considering?

Maybe I am kind of all over the place and maybe some of these questions each need their own thread.

But I would appreciate any of you pros telling me how you would structure your pre-planned events over the 5 days (Thurs-Mon - no park on Tuesday).

Thanks

Carla

Okay, I'll take a hit at helping you get started here:

You mentioned Goofy's Kitchen upon arrival. I love Goofy's Kitchen and think it's as great of a choice as any other, but I personally would not want to do it upon arrival. Your family has traveled to get to Disneyland. Are they going to want to go sit in a restaurant very first thing upon arrival? We would be anxious to go into the Park. Just something to think about. I like your thought about dining there after a MM.

The one show you did not mention is fireworks. I would not miss them if you are "show" people (like me!), as Disney does great fireworks. You want to plan to see these early in your trip as they can be canceled due to wind - meaning you will want a second chance to see them during your visit.

Aladdin, Jedi Training Academy, and Billy Hill and the Hillbillies do not have PS. Aladdin DOES have priority seating tickets through various travel packages, but we are locals, have never had the tickets and have seen Aladdin maybe a half a dozen times.

The Blue Bayou is nice. The atmosphere is very unique.

Start with scheduling fireworks, if you want to see them, and then plan from there.

HTH get you started,
Dreams

Thanks for the start - I was lumping fireworks in with Fantasmic night so maybe will schedule that for Friday night.

Is the Fantasmic dessert receommended for 4 and 6 year old boys? I see a lot of adults talking and raving about it but not a lot of mention of little kids.

And wouldn't we watch the fireworks from our F! viewing area or should we try to move elsewhere after the F show?

Yes I agree we will will do goofy on a a Sat or Sun MM - Is either Sat or Sun going to be any more or less busy at Goofy's around noon???

Club 33's a given lol. But I doubt you have access. I'd consider the character Breakfast at Grand Californian. Something called like Chip & Dale's Storyteller Cafe? Maybe. Somethin like that

My 4 year old loved the Fantasmic dessert!! She was very impressed that we actually let her stuff herself with an entire box of desserts and drink hot chocolate on top of that!! It was also great to have seats for the show. We watched the fireworks from our seats right after F! It was great.

We loved Goofy's Kitchen dinner. Another one we really liked was Minnie's breakfast in the park. The character interaction was fantastic there. There were a ton of characters. We did a late breakfast so the restaurant was not that crowded and the characters really played with the kids. Hook even did the macarena (not the song playing, but he had the moves!)
