so we have a trip booked fro 9/29-10/7 through AAA agent as that was the best discount available at the time we booked...

recently received a PIN code via email...call CRO today and she tried to help, but as my reservation was through another agent they need her to call to work out a "trip exchange" or something like that....

so I call the agent and give her my PIN number...she sounds so clueless...had no idea what a PIN was or really what I was talking about.....she said she is going to call and I believe she will...I really hope the CRO agent is kind to her and doesn't just blow us both off.....

is there anything I can do to see if there are availablilities myself with the PIN....I tried to not say that I had an existing reservation this morning, but as soon as they pull your name up to look for the code they see the reservation...

I am just so frustrated with her lack of disney knowledge....last month I called her about the last code that was out as it went through 9/29 she told me that it wouldn't work for me as it would only apply to one day of my stay and wouldn't believe me when I said it would apply to the whole stay...I looked myself for that one and there were not any deluxes available anyway....

frustrated:headache:

Stuff like this always worries me, too. This week, I have read that several people said their AAA agent told them the discount with AAA was better than their PIN. That may be true, but I always wonder if the AAA agent really tried to get a better price with the PIN. It would worry me.

This is going to sound elaborate and crazy, but here's what you could do. (I actually had to do something similar to this last summer. I really didn't know whether my husband or my sister was going to accompany me on the trip until a week or so before we left. So I kept calling back and changing the names on the ressie, because I didn't know who was going with me.)

Before you do this elaborate scheme, I would try just calling CRO and explaining the situation and saying you want to make sure you have the best price. You may get someone who will help you without touching your AAA reservation and messing it up.

That being said, if nothing else works, you could call and say you want to book two rooms. One room with AAA and one room with the PIN. That way you would know if the rate is available. And you wouldn't have to cancel ANYTHING until you were sure you had the best price. Once you have the best price, you could just cancel the other room.

In order to check both prices, you could say that DH is now going to stay in the new room with his brother (they will probably ask for his brother's name, but that's okay).

And you could say that you are going to stay in the AAA room with your sister. I know it's weird, but it could be true and the person at CRO doesn't know the difference. And at least you would get your information about whether there is another room available at a better price.

Once you know, you could cancel the more expensive room immediately and change the names in the room you are keeping to be correct. (Before you cancel, make sure you have added some nieces or nephews to the new room, too, to even up the number of kids in both rooms so you know you have the right price).

I know this is weird, and I cannot believe I am posting this. Maybe someone has a better idea where you do not have to make anything up! I sure do hope so. I am only posting this because it's my only idea, and it would drive me absolutely crazy to think I could have the trip for a better price and not be able to find out.

I wish you all the best in getting the best price! My heart is in the right place even if my advice is not the best.

thanks for the opinion...I would need to be at home to that !! Not at work between other things...I would never be able to kep my "facts" straight....

it bugs me so that I know more than the agent about disney trips...I think I will refer her herefor some "training"

I always book myself and next time I will again....I don't know why I went with an agent this time anyway.....:headache:

I am surprised at how many travel agents really don't know anything about pin codes. If they are going to handle Disney vacations they need to know what they are doing. We should all just have a fellow dis'er book our trips from now on :thumbsup2 .

soooo.... I just called back the agent to see if she had found out any information yet, she tells me no I haven't "heard" anything yet...that means that she hasn't called them to check yet...I am so pissed...

I know that a code came out today for visa holders so they are gobbeling up any extra rooms as I wait...

so I am now on hold trying to get a "new" room reserved

:headache: :headache: :headache: :headache:

just to finish the story... I finally got someone to help me and in the end for same dates unfortunately the AAA discount is actually better than the PIN code ! What a bummer...now I am not going to tell the agent...I am going to make her call anyway and see when she gets back to me.....

At least, now you know. Wish you could have saved some money, though.

I hope you have a wonderful trip! It should be a great time of year :)
