I currently have a room only reservation at the Poly and have paid the one night deposit. If a discount on rooms becomes available on Aug 1st, can I go online and book with the discount and get a refund on the original by phone? Is my only option to wait until 7am to make that call to get any available discount?

Yes you have to wait until the phones open that day. This is assuming you have a Disney visa. Otherwise you have to wait until the 1st.

If you have to call anyway, why not just adjust the reservation you already have, instead of making a whole new one? Phone lines don't open until 7, so that is usually when discounts go live.

Not sure what the "Disney Visa" comment meant.

I can understand why you might want to jump online rather than take the time on the phone to modify your existing reservation--you want to jump on whatever discounted rooms may be available right away! (Seems like the phone wait can be interminable)

Disney visa holders get an advance on bookings. Everyone else has to wait until Thursday to book.

If you have a Disney visa then you must call because the online booking doesn't open until Thursday either. Additionally, to modify a reservation, you must call as well, since they can't do that online.

Not sure what the "disney visa" comment meant. From my experiences this means it is offer to those who has "disney visa credit card only.They get first chance to book first before going to general public.
