I am about to book a trip to Long Island to Ft lauderdale on a Wendesday to Friday - not during anysort of break - right now fares are around 119 Each way. If a ding comes out - I can get my price lowered, Correct? and I get a credit? How long is the credit good for? And when does the credit time start? If it is a year - do i have to fly within that time or just rebook?

to someone else to use?

Not after January. A new rule goes into affect in January that only allows the credit to be used by the same person as on the original ticket.

With a ding, you have to cancel and rebook. I would suggest making 2 one way reservations, that way if a ding comes out you don't have to cancel both ways.

Hello, fellow Long Islander! I assume you are talking about booking a Southwest flight. If you get a Ding fare that is lower you can re-book and use the credit within a year of when the original tickets were purchased. If you re-book by the end of this year anyone can use the credit. After January 1, it can only be used by the original passenger.

Have a wonderful trip.
