We are thinking about selling our OKW (bought originally resale) and buying BWV. We currently have a Blue Card - which I guess gives up some grandfathered benefits.

1. If we bought BWV resale, do we lose the Blue Card?
2. Does anyone have a list of those perks?
3. What if we kept our OKW, and bought additional points at BWV - if we kept the same use year, do these additional BWV points fall under the Blue Card or will they be counted as non-blue?

Hope this makes sense. Thanks all for any info!!!!!

If you sell OKW and buy resale you will lose the blue card. If you keep OKW and add a BWV contract you still have your blue card due to the OKW contract. The new resale points wouldn't be able to be used at Riviera or any future resorts. The main perks for blue card are AP discount, Moonlight Magic, Epcot Lounge, and dining/merch discounts.

If you sell OKW and buy BWV resale, you will lose your blue card.

If you keep OKW and add BWV resale, you will keep your blue card perks, but your BWV points will be restricted.

So start with point restrictions: resale points cannot be used at Riviera and future resorts. You can use your OKW points at all resorts, but your BWV points would be limited to the “original resorts.”
You also can’t use restricted points at Disney Collection, Disney cruise, etc.

The other blue card perks are not tied to resort. Many of those perks are currently unavailable. They typically include annual pass discounts (and ability to buy Gold pass), moonlight magic events, dining discounts, discounted TIW card, etc.

What determines if you are blue card eligible is if the membership contains an eligible contract.

1. If we bought BWV resale, do we lose the Blue Card?
If you sell your OKW and buy resale BWV today, then yes you will lose the blue card because the membership would not contain a contract meeting the requirements at the time of purchase. Even buying a BWV first and then selling your OKW after does not grandfather your eligibility for the blue card because once you sell the OKW, you no longer have an eligible contract.

2. Does anyone have a list of those perks?
Read the important information on Membership Extras at the bottom of this page first.

I understand what you are trying to ask, but this in an invalid question. Usage of points and eligibility for the blue card are two separate things. Each individual contract you own has its own set of qualifications, depending on how and when you purchased your contract. Therefore, your BWV contract will follow the rules and restrictions of resale contracts at the time of purchase. You could even purchase another OKW resale today and it would have different rules and restrictions from your existing OKW contract, because of the different times they were acquired.

As mentioned, the blue card is based on qualified points in the membership.

Each set of points and what they can be used for is based on when and how you bought them.

I had BWV qualified and SSR non qualified points in my Dec UY that made that membership blue card eligible. When I sold BWV last year, I lost that status.

I then bought BLT this year resale. However, the SSR points were bought pre 2019 so those points can be used for RIV, but the new BLT can not.

Just be aware that if you give up the contract that makes you blue card eligible, and want back in, you now have to meet the current minimum.
