We will be driving down in March and staying at Fort Wilderness. The kids know we are going camping and going for a loooong drive. (16 hours). But they don't know we are going to WDW.
My plan is to tell them a little at a time. I have 4 kids and will be giving them each a gift, one at a time over the course of the drive. The first will go to the 2yr old and the card will say "We're". The second will go to the 6yr old and will say "Going". The third will go to the 9yr old and will say "To". And the Fourth will go to the 11yr old and say "Walt Disney World!!"

I need ideas for gifts to give them.

How fun!

What about gifts that can be utilized on that long drive and/or while at FW? Camp themed toys, coloring books, glow sticks, compasses, etc.

Maybe make "smores" snacks with golden grahams cereal for the ride... that is, if you don't mind chocolate in your car!

Your kids are about the same age as mine (sans the 2 year old) were the first time we surprised them. One of the things we did was to give the kids a clue as to the next big city/tourist area/state line/etc that we were going to pass through. It kept them interested in the drive and it actually taught them something! They still remember the order of the states that we went through, that Atlanta has many streets with the name "Peach" in them, and that Mammoth Caves are in Kentucky.

We are doing this exact same thing but we leave in 9 days!!! ( I also have 4 kiddos, ages 8,7,6 and almost 4, this is our first visit) I have envelopes with cards I made that have little sayings on them that correspond with each present they open...

I hit up the dollar section at target and they had a ton of Disney themed items and right now their toys are 70% off and I found a bunch of monster U stuff. I also went to the dollar store as well as walgreens had Disney themed stuff as well.

I got things like Disney coloring books, mickey mouse ring pop suckers, glow sticks for at night in the car, Disney sticker books, Disney search and find books (like where's waldo)

I also made little certificates for a stop at mcdonalds for ice cream, and I have 2 unopened new dvd's that the kids don't own yet, the croods and planes. I also have cards for Chewing gum and one for a gourmet lolly pop. I have travel games, color wonders. I've been accumulating stuff since October so it wasn't such a huge financial impact at once. we have a 20 hour ride so I tried to plan at least something for every other hour and took into consideration sleep time as well.

everything is packed up so I'm trying to remember off the top of my head, sorry for the rambling.

OOH Glow sticks are a good idea. I'm trying not to be too obvious with my gifts. I think I am going to get a used copy of the first season of Chip n' Dale rescue rangers. And of course my 6yr old Princess will be getting Frozen, since it comes out a few days before we leave. I am putting Disney gift cards with the final note since they will probably be a dead give away. So that leaves me with one last gift. I like a lot of your ideas. Keep 'em coming!!!

Temporary tattoos? Sunglasses? Water bottles? Flashlights? New towels? Lip balm? Hats? Anything that glows in the dark? Just thinking of camping-themed things that won't necessarily give away the last clue.

What about snacks--granola bars, Disney-themed gummies or juice boxes? Or a travel game, pack of cards or a book for the road trip?
