We will be going down to FL in late Feb./early march we only plan to do disney thing 2 days this year, we have taken the kids 3 times already in their short lives and plan on another 5-7 day disney trip in about 3 years or so when they are all old enough to remember and enjoy it. any who...

this year ds will be 6, dd 4, and dd 2 1/2 and we went for 5 days LONG days actuly by day 5 all we did was walk into animal kingdom go on dinasour and leave... so this year we plan to go to the magic kingdom and animal kingdom that's all though. Last year we didn't do any of the character meals b/c the friends we were traveling with were on a much tighter budget then us, it really kinds draged our vacation down, this year it will just be our family of 5 and my mom and step dad who will not be doing the park thing with us... so i wanted to take the kids to a meal w/ charecters that they will all enjoy. we did go to the restrant at Epcot that rotates and charecters come out and see you though the meal and they did love it but we need soemthing a little differant.... dd 4/y woudl just LOVE to dine with princess but i'm not so sure ds woudl like that so much... is there anything that will meet both needs? How far in advance do you need to make reservations for charecter meals???

We have gone to a few Princess Breakfasts. One at the Castle a few years ago (when the prices were cheaper) and most recently we did the Norway Breakfast this past March. We went for my DD5 and My DS7 knows we are going for his sister and he was fine with it. This time he didn't want his pictures taken with any of the princesses but they always made a big deal of kissing him and paying attention to him he was in most pictures (and I think secretly liked it).

We also did Chef Mickeys for Dinner, which they both liked. So, if you do the Princesses just make sure you have one planned that your son will like too.

Well for princesses- you have a few choices- CRT(which would appeal to your son with the whole castle thing and now they are "giving" you a sword with your meal- I use giving loosely as you pay an arm and a leg for this meal.) The Norway PSB which has the same castle feel but it is 100% princess stuff inside- at least he may get some Prince Charming at the CRT. 1900 Park Fare at the GF does a really nice dinner with Cinderella, Prince Charming and Perla and the other mouse....My son tolerated that one. Now if they are into Jojo and Goliath they have a new meal at H&V in MGM(even though you said you weren't going there I thought I should throw that out anyway) because it is Jojo and Goliath as well as the Little Einsteins- pretty boy/girl even meal for a change. But since you are really limiting your time there I vote CRT maybe for lunch? I am not positive when Cinderella is there though so check that first. I am not sure if she is at all the meals anymore. I know they do a forced family photo now too.

I personally think that my favorite character dining is Chef Mickeys . It is in the Contemporary Resort. YOU can just take the monorail from the Magic Kingdom to that Resort. It doesn't have any Princesses but it has Mickey, MInnie, Donald, Goofy, and Chip and Dale. For Princesses the 1900 Park Fair is good, ALSO, THE CINDERELLA'S ROYAL CASTLE WAS AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE, WE DID IT WITH THE DINING PLAN AND IT WAS WORTH IT. YOUR SON MIGHT NOT LIKE THE PRINCESS IDEA, BUT WHEN I WENT , I SAW CINDERELLA NOT MUCH BUT WE DIDN'T GO UP TO HER AND ASK HER FOR A SIGNATURE EITHER. BEING INSIDE THE CASTLE IS AMAZING. THE CASTLE THAT I'VE LOOKED AT SO MANY TIMES IN THE MAGIC KINGDOM. WHEN I WENT LAST YEAR, THE PLACE WASN'T SWARMING WITH PRINCESSES.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

we have eat just a dinner in the castle last visit and the kids really enjoyed it, well have to give some though to it i guess, kids don't know were going yet, i dont' want to hear all disney for 7 months! LOL

We took DS 10 thts right 10 for his birthday to the beach club and he loved it it and so did the other families of mixed genders. They had Minie which every little girl called after soooo cute Chip and Dale and Goofy! It was a blast I have to tell you Minnie kept coming back to sit with my son and when his cake came out who was it his side Minnie she even gav ehim a kiss on the cheek! Priceless mainly becasue he loved it!
