Hi! I am planning a trip to the Poly in December 2006 after Christmas. Can anyone help me choose a location to request? Do you like first floor? How is the monorail view? What would be close to Captain Cook's? Mom, Dad, DD will be 8, DS will be 14.

We love the Polynesian and have stayed there around 30 times. We never have requested a particular longhouse (although sometimes we know where we'll be because of concierge or an accessible room). Anyway, I prefer to just let the magic happen. :flower: All of the longhouses have different advantages and really none are that far away from CCs. The two closest are Nuie and Raratonga.

We ask for nonsmoking and first floor and leave it at that.

Tikiman has a wonderful web site with descriptions of all the longhouses.

Happy planning. :sunny:

Hi, we just returned from 7 nights at the Poly yesterday and it was wonderful as our other two trips there. We requested Samoa, ground floor (because we cannot fit our 3 grandson's strollers in the elevators) but they only had third floor Samoa available. Well, we took it and decided who cares about the elevators as the view was fabulous. We were on the volcano pool side and not only enjoyed the pool view, but view of GF and the lake. We have stayed in Fiji before, ground floor, and Samoa, ground floor, but now we think we will go for the view. We found we kept our curtains opened more and really did enjoy the view. Any other questions, I'd be happy to answer.

We also just returned from the Poly. We like the third floor rooms in Tokelau that face the quiet pool. The view of the hotel with all the foliage and tiki torches burning is just great. Tokelau is also located halfway between the GCH and the TTC so it is just a short walk to either monorail station.

I have stayed at Aotearoa facing the monorail... I liked this room a lot. It was quiet. We didn't see any foot traffic. We were on the 3rd floor. Very close to GCH and the monorail of course.

We stayed at Tokelau at the very end of the bldg near the beach, great view, but the walk is kind of long for me and my children, especially after the park. And a long walk to use the monorail. The kids didn't care to ride the boat to MK.

My next stay there, I would ask for Fiji. I like this location, same location as Aotearoa. But I would ask for the room facing GF. No bldg in front of you, so you feel secluded and no foot traffic. I like passing by the marina. And this is also close to GCH.
