Hi guys, im TRYING to plan a trip for my ds who will be turning 8 in september, our days will be Sept 8th -12th which is actually his b-day. My family consists of myself and hubby and son, we will be driving from nashville tenn, and staying somewhere that has a free HOT breakfast, and close to MK, we have never been there and have no idea which way to turn literally.:confused3. My husband is military and we will using the park tickets where we can visit any park any time but i narrowed it down to MK, Epcot, Ak.

We need to be close to the park for fear of getting lost and wasting time. I just want a clean room, close to parks, restaurants and grocery within area.
Thanks :yay:

The Holiday Inn Express & Suites is a couple miles from Downtown Disney and that area and across the street from a Super Wal-Mart. They include breakfast. I don't know if the military rate is a good deal or not, but perhaps the Friends and Family rate will be a good deal. It is non-refundable so your plans should be set before booking. The Holiday Inn across from Downtown Disney just reopened earlier this year and is extremely nice but the rates may not be nearly as affordable and it doesn't include breakfast. It is my new favorite off property hotel and again isn't much further than the Holiday Inn Express & Suites. Here is the link to the F&F rate: http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/6c...Uk70%3D&cm_mmc=DCE-_-FF-_-20090821-_-AM159051

Good Luck! :)

I would encourage you to look at the Disney Value resorts. There is a 30% off code right now that will knock a good chunk off the price---it will come to about $70/night with tax. That's a fair price, but it doesn't include breakfast. They are clean, Disney will take you to and fro, and there is a pretty decent food court at each of them.

If you haven't already purchased tickets, it might even be a better deal to go with the dining promotion being offered during that time.

I'm normally a big offsite fan, but I think given your desire not to get turned around, staying in a place where Disney will do the driving might be a good idea.

Oh! My wife just had an even better idea. If your husband is military, you could stay at Shades of Green. The rate depends on his rank/classification. It's a little more money than the Disney Value, but a LOT nicer.

And, finally, thank you for your family's service.

If you stay on property, you may get free dining with your package.

I went in 2001 with my boys, then aged 10 and 7. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Sun Spree in Lake Vuena Vista. There was a wall dividing my room and the kids room with bunk beds and a day bed. Breakfast was free for everyone and kids eat free at dinner..both hot/cold buffets. There were also activities every night and my kids were constantly winning prizes of free ice cream! We walked next door to the golden coral for dinner one night. Not my cup of tea, but the boys LOVED it. There was also a 7/11 on the other side of the hotel where I bought snacks and soda for the room, which had a fridge and microwave. This was a cheapo vacation! We only did it to take advantage of the next to nothing airfare that was being offered right after 9/11. My husband couldnt get time off, so it was me, alone with the kids. I had NO problems finding my way from the hotel to the parks..about a 5 minute drive. Orlando is very well marked with large direction signs!

This hotel was not glamorous with marble lobby, concierge etc..but it was very clean, fantastic friendly staff and definitely is a place I would recommend for a great inexpensive vacation.

Well....thats my 2 cents!! Good Luck in your search!
