1. Disneyland or Adventureland?

I'm assuming you mean Disney California Adventure. If you have the ability, I would hop between both of the parks. However, if you have to choose one or the other, Disneyland would be the park to pick.

2. Should we spend more than 1 day there?

I would highly recommend you spend more than 1 day there. In order to really see everything you want you probably want to spend a minimum of 3 days (and ideally 4) at the park. Spending one day you will basically just have to pick and choose what you want to see.

3. Which hotel to stay at? the resort of good neighbor hotel? I will have a car with me..

I would recommend either staying at a Disney Resort or staying at a hotel within walking distance. If you only have 1 day to spend, I don't know if you are wanting to spend the extra time it will take to drive/wait for parking/ride the tram/etc. Staying on-site or at a hotel across the street will give you the ability to only have to spend a few minutes walking to get to the gate (and save the $15 parking fee).

4. which is a must do at DL?

Since you've been to WDW, I would try and make sure you do the rides that are unique to DLR (or better than their WDW counterparts). Hydroguy has a nice sticky that has information for a WDW who is new to DLR.

That all I have for now.. Thank you so much in advance.

In response to your questions:

1) Disneyland has more rides for kids in the 8 and under age range. Your 3 and 4 year olds will most likely be too short for many of the rides at California Adventure. The rides at Disneyland do not have nearly as many height restrictions as the rides at California Adventure (although there are some, so check their website to know ahead of time which rides your kids will be permitted to ride).

2) Do you have your heart set on doing every tiny little thing? With kids those ages, there will be some things your family likely wants to skip (Indy, perhaps? Space Mountain? Big Thunder Mountain Railroad? Possibly even rides like Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion?) If you're not a die-hard Disney fanatic, and if your kids' opinions of what is a fun ride and what ISN'T a fun ride will likely keep you anchored to Fantasyland most (or all) of the day, then 1 day would be enough, IMHO.

Also, with a family with several children, adding more days to your visit gets pricey, quick! It's not just the tickets...it's the extra days at the hotel, food costs, parking costs, etc. Is your visit to Disneyland one part of a larger vacation, or is it the main focus of your entire trip? If it is the main focus, you may want to consider adding a day or two, but again, think seriously about how much your kids are going to be willing to do there (I have many extended family members who, as children, were so afraid of most things at Disneyland that they would not ride them, and some of them even have children now who are afraid of the rides, too). If you feel pretty confident that they will love almost everything and be willing to do a lot while there, then adding days makes sense. But if they are timid and/or do not like to try new things (very common in the 3 to 4 age group...), then sticking with 1 day probably makes more sense. I've visited Disneyland with people whose kids (ages 8 and 10 at the time) were very timid about rides and were to frightened to ride almost anything in the park. For that family, 1 day was MORE than enough time. Staying any longer would have been a huge waste of time and money for them.

3) I've never stayed on-site, so I can't compare. It's far less expensive, and not much more inconvenient, to stay at a nearby hotel, like Desert Inn and Suites (you can easily walk to the park from there). But if budget isn't a huge concern, I'm sure staying on-site at the resort is fun and at least a bit more convenient.

4) The things that are a must-do at DLR will depend, again, on what your children are going to want to do most of the time. With 3 kids, you likely are not going to want to spend the majority of your day taking turns with your husband so each of you can ride rides the kids don't want to go on, while the other one waits with the kids at the exit. As a Mom of 4, I can say that gets old pretty fast, lol. A few times a day is fine, but anything more than that starts to take away from the fun of being at Disneyland, at least for me. If you let us know the temperament of your children (are they fearful of most rides or will they ride almost anything?), and how willing/unwilling you and your husband are to use the Parent Swap system in order to ride rides that the kids can't/won't ride, then this question will be much easier to answer. :)

Plan is my middle name!! jk. lol

Anyways, I agree with Mugglemama, it really depends on your kids & the rest of your travel plans.

1. If you can really only do 1 day, Disneyland is the place to be IMHO. When we go, we usually do 2-3 days. If it is 2 days, there is 1 full day dedicated to Disneyland while the other day we park hop. If we are there for 3 days, generally 2 days are dedicated to Disneyland. There is more to do there (for me & my family), and definitely more for the younger children with just about 7 or so rides that have height requirements. Indy being 46 inch requirement has the highest requirement.

2. Definitely try for more than 1 day. If you can only squeeze in 1 extra day, you will have an opportunity to see some (or all) of both parks.

3. Staying on site can be pricey, if that is not an issue, go for it. If you want to save money on hotel & parking, and time from parking, stay at Desert Inn & Suites, Park Vue Inn, or Best Western Plus Park Place Inn & Suites. All are located just across the street with the pedestrian cross in front of BW.

4. Must do's, hmmm, there are so many!! Since you have been to WDW, I would agree to focus on what they don't have, or what is supposedly "better" at DL. I have never been WDW, so I really cant say from experience. But, with that being said, DL Pirates & Haunted Mansion & I think Space Mountain would need a visit. HM may be scary for the little 2, but again, that depends on your kids. HM was my oldest sons fav ride at the age of 2. Definitely do Jungle Cruise, a DL original from opening day. And one of our favorites is Thunder Mountain, but at night. Also a family fav, is Storybook Canal at dusk. If you go during the day, the sun will beam down on you and you will roast & possibly burn. I also use Its A Small World to relax & cool down mid-day is it is a long, cool, in door ride.

Have a fabulous trip!!

Absolutely do more than one day! I agree that Disneyland will be better for the younger ones, though California Adventure has Bug's Land and that's geared towards little ones, too.

Thank you for those that have reply..

I did take all your advice and extend our trip into 3 days. I was wondering where is Downtown Disney? can we walk to it from the park?

Also what a good beach to visit?

Since i'm staying at a good neighborhood hotel.. do we the same perk as staying on the resort?

what a good sit down restaurant to eat at Disney? I'm also interested in character dining? 2 girls and a boy.

also what is preferred seating for alladin? how do you get prefferred seating? also for the world of color and fanstamic?

It is right next to the parks.

See Interactive Map of DLR - http://www.wikimapia.org/#lat=33.809...2&z=19&l=0&m=b

From DLR it would be Newport, Huntington or Corona Del Mar.

No.

Do not know about character dining but there are many options for sit downs. You can read Mary Jo's sticky thread for opinions:

The siganture restaurant at DL is Blue Bayou. It is expensive but unique. More moderate priced dining can be found at Cafe Orleans and many other places.

Preferred seating for Aladdin is something you get when you book certain travel packages and in most people's opinion is not worth much because it does save you any time.

World of Color has a dining package that gets you a standing space in the center. Fantasmic has dessert packages.
