OK, we have never been to Disney in December. We want to see the World decorated for the holidays. We have only one day and we can hop. We will be arriving when the parks open on Dec.10 (Wednesday), we will stay the night, and head back in the morning. What are the absolute must sees we shouldn't miss that are unique to the Christmas season? It will be me, DH, DS-4 years old, and MIL who is crazy about Christmas, especially Santa. Thanks!!!!:)

One day, huh? Well, I've said it before and I'll say it again: When it comes to Christmas decorations, no park does it quite like Epcot. Not only do you get to see the decorations from around the world, but there's the international archway with its lights flashing to the same music the fountain is dancing to, the santas from around the world... so much to see!

The Magic Kingdom is nice, too, but much more subtle. Wreaths down mainstreet, that kind of thing.

Normally, the Osborne Lights are the highlight of MGM, but those will not be shown this year, so that means unless there's a particular attraction you wanted to see in MGM, you could skip it!

Nothing really stands out in my mind about AK at the holidays.

As for the resorts, I've always found that The Wilderness Lodge and Grand Floridian stand out in my mind as "must see" locations.

HOpe this helps at least a little!

Definitely Epcot. Each of the countries offers their own version of Santa Claus. These storytellers share the holiday stories of the homelands and are wonderful. Santa ofcourse is in America.

You might consider the Candlelight Processional. Truly the best show on property. A full choir and orchestra with a celebrity narrator tell the story of the first xmas. The music alone will bring you goosebumps. You can get a dinner pkg which includes dinner, a merch discount at EC and reserved seating for the show. It is well worth the $$ as the line can get lenghthy on many evenings for standby guest.

EC also has a xmas tree lighting at the entrance to WS and the beautifully lighted bridge called the lights of winter.

MK at 5pm as their flag ceromony in Town Sq which is very moving followed by a wonderful little show which leads up to the lighting of the MK xmas tree. The kids will really enjoy this.

Finally think about taking in the decorations at a few of the resorts. Each is decorated to match the theming. GF in particular roast chestnuts and has a full sized gingerbread house that serves as a gingerbread store. The cms start the evening off by singing carols followed by the pianist & band. Just sit in the lobby and enjoy the spirit.

Thanks you guys!!! Even though it's only for one day it sounds like it will DEFINATELY get us into the Christmas spirit! I can't wait!!:moped:
