All you WDW hotel vets chime in! I am taking an anniversary trip(no kids!) to FL next spring and want to surprise my wife with a date night. I'd like to dine in Downtown Disney and catch the show La Nouba. We have other plans for the rest of the week so we would just need one night near WDW and I am thinking either a DD hotel or one of the POR resorts and take the boat over to DD.

Which would you pick? A DD hotel or POR?

If we chose a DD hotel, is there one that is easy walking distance to DD?

Thanks for any help you can give!

POR! It is super romantic! You could even get a royal room and maybe do a carriage ride. Of course the boat to DTD would be really convenient. You could also see YeeHaw Bob's show there later that night (if it is one of his nights there).

I'm gonna go with POR on this one. It's very beautiful and quiet.

Is the Hilton the only one within short walking distance of Downtown Disney?

The Buena Vista Palace is directly across the road from DTD and is lovely. It's on Buena Vista Dr at the corner of Resort Plaza Blvd. (kitty corner from the entrance to The Marketplace at the traffic lights)

They offer "Fireworks View" rooms in the tower that you can watch Illuminations from. :)

Price range of how much your willing to spend?

Whats her dream hotel at Disney?

What day of the week are we talking?

I would pick POR. Enjoyed the boat ride over to DTD the one time we stayed their.

You can also look into renting DVC points for a studio at SSR and take the boat over to DTD.

POR or SSR are great options for their convenience and easy accessibility to DD!

The Buena Vista Palace and the Wyndam are also short walks.

Check TripAdvisor on all of them before you decide... ;)

These are only non-Disney DTD that are walkable www.downtowndisneyhotels.com. Look for deals on this site. Ones I've stayed and will return Hilton, B Resort (all new) and Doubletree. POR is a favorite too!
