Ok I just found out about the whole Jersery week thing, and from what I hear it's gonna be a mad house the 1st full week in november. I really don't want to go the last week in September either because I think alot of folks will still be there taking advantage of the free DDP. So what do you think? Am I over reacting to the possible crowds during the last week of September. Or would say 1st or 2nd week of October be better?
Also, hurricane season. Is that a concern for the end of september early october timeframe.

I would think that the last week of September will be the least crowded time this year.
1. Most schools have not been back in session for long so i think parents would be least likely to take their kids out for a week so early in the school year.
2. Yup, its hurricane season, but then again Hurricane Season starts in June and is not OFFICIALLY over until like December 3(?)
3. October 1 is the start of the new promotion for Disney, i'm sure there will be a big push to get people to visit at this time, not to mention all the press for the start of this Promotion.
4.. At the end of September you can still catch the beginning of the Food & wine Festival but will miss the MNSSHP at MK but will also miss the local crowds that visit for weekend to attend MNSSHP
5. Columbus day is October 9 this year - which may also increase crowds the beginning of October.

Weather wise i dont think there would be much difference from the end of September to the beginning of October. Price wise it will be a little cheaper in september than October (goes for airline tickets also). I think crowds would be a little lighter in September than in October.

Disney has an excellent reputation of keeping their guess as save as possible during inclement weather emergencies, we were at WDW during Hurricane Wilma last October and the staff was great. It started to hit the area at approximately 7pm at which time the parks were cleared. It was requested we stay at our resorts until 2pm the following day at which time the parks started to reopen and transportation went back on line.

hope you have a great trip whichever time you decide to go.

We had it narrowed down to a couple different weeks. The second full week in Nov shouldn't be very crowded. We ended up settling on 9/23-9/30. According to the research I did, it shouldn't be a bad week to go, and we got the free dining. It will be HOT though, I guess that's the drawback for me. We usually go in sept/oct, but it seems that Oct is getting busier lately, maybe because of F&W and MNSSHP, not sure. Hoping that by going the week prior, we will miss some of those crowds.

Jersey Week is actually the 2nd week in November this year. So you should be fine. You could pick the 2nd week in October to avoid the free diners and get a chance to go to the Halloween Party.

Wow, DDD, I think this is the most informative post I've ever read! Are you a Disney travel agent? I need you to help me pick my dates too! And then map out my itinerary!

Seriously, do you know as much about January as you do the fall?

Either time is going to be just great! You're not going over Christmas or Easter, which is the busiest time of the year, and you're not going over the summer when the heat can up the stress factor, feeling more crowded than it is.

And even is you were going during those times, your friends here at the DIS will crowd-proof your trip for you!

I Am From Nj And Have Never Been During "jersey Week" Is It Really Bad? We Have Actually Booked Our Trip This Year For The 2nd Week In Nov. Because Of All The Holidays In The Week. I Usually Like To Go Mid Oct.

I've been a couple times during Jersey week. Before I went the 1st time these boards had me expecting it to be like Easter week. Not the case at all! The weekends were crowded but I find no matter when you go weekends are more crowded. Weather was great both times had one day of rain.
