I have a very old Kodak digi. Basically a point and shoot. I have been looking to get a new one for some time and are just sort of at a loss.

So after much reading and playing with camera's at the stores. I have narrowed it down to either a

Canon G9 or Canon S5

any pro's or cons? Would love to get it soon so I can start playing with it and learning all the tricks, bells and whistels they have before our cruise in Sept

Thanks!

They are both nice cameras. Go to a store and hold them to see how each feels in your hands. Play with the controls and see if they feel intuitive. Compare the specs of each. Pick the one ultimately that has the best feel, features and size most important to you. Good luck.

PS you can do a side-by-side review of both on dpreview.com under Buyer's Guide. Not sure this link will work but here they are: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/com...debyside&cameras=canon_g9,canon_s5is&show=all
