Have never been in January before, need suggestions on what types of clothes to bring. Plan to bring warm jackets, hats and mittens, jeans, sweatsuits. (Will be out late at EMH! princess: ). What about shorts, footwear? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Definitely bring some warm clothing with you, especially for the evening.

We can get pretty cold here during winter and the temp. can get down to freezing overnight on occasion. The good side is it doesn't last long and gets warmer again until the next cold/cool cycle.

Also remember cold to us may not be cold to those of you up north.

Do bring jeans and a jacket. Would even recommend a scarf and hat for over the ears for a cold wind. Propably wouldn't hurt to throw in a pair of shorts but no guarantee you will wear them while here in Jan. We've been in an unusual warm pattern for quite a while now for this time of year, but it's anyone's guess as to what the actual weather will be in Jan. Be prepared and you'll be fine.

Have a wonderful time.

It's been beautiful, but is supposed to get much colder this weekend. In any event you need warm clothes for the evening. My suggestion is to bring clothes that can be layered. A blouse and sweater for days, a fleece jacket for early evening, and another jacket for cold. We rent a locker at the park rrather than carrying it all around.

I used to wear tights under my shorts and take them off around noon time. This trip I'm just bringing some baggy sweatpants to throw on over my shorts, jeans, mittens, ear warmers, jackets, you name it, we will have it.

Rest of this week looks to be highs in the upper 60's, which to me, a florida native is cold.. but depending on your definition of cold, that might not even come close..

This week was quite warm, like 78-80 degrees warm, today is gonna be rainy..

You need to pack for every type of weather this time of year unfortunatly.. I'm hoping that the hats/mittens you are talking about is going overboard because I dont even want to think about weather that cold, but be prepared for anything and everything.

Bring everything, lol. We've been twice in Jan (around this time) and the weather changes like the wind. But both times, we've been in shorts for several of the days and both times we've spent a day at Typhoon Lagoon so you never know. Other days we've been in jeans/windsuits. Windsuits are my fav as you can wear shorts and T-shirts under them and strip off as the day goes on if it warms up.

My DH and kids have been in shorts when we've seen a few people in gloves though, lol. I don't wear a hat and scarf when its -40C here so I certainly wont need those in FLorida. Its all relative to what temperatures your used to so I tend to pack some of everything.

Thank you all so much for your responses. Sounds like I need to be prepared so bring a little of everything and layers is the key. I really hope we can get some pool time in! :wizard:

Pea-N-Me - pack like you would pack for the Cape in late June :)
