Help me out RE: wknd pt VS AP discount at deluxes?

Okay I have never even considered staying anywhere but a DVC resort on friday and saturday - But on our last trip in July we ate at Chef Mickey's and our DD9 said "Wow wouldn't it be cool to stay here?" Well we ended up talking about the different resorts and come to find out DD would like to stay at a few. We have PAP and I believe its $85.00 off/night(mousesavers website) and I ran some numbers and its more than doable. If our Nov/Dec trip uses 95pts(ouch) for just fri/sat night in a 1 bdrm at OKW, using the standard $10.00/pt theory, thats $950.00 Using the AP discount for a deluxe for say the Contemporary garden view rm its $190.00/night or $380.00 for the 2 nights. I know the rooms set aside for this are few but if DD would like to stay at different resorts then maybe we will do wknds elsewhere.


What do you guys think and do I have my info correct?

Your numbers make sense, but if you have ever experienced the "joy" of switching rooms during vacation, you might want to consider staying at the Contemporary once you've moved there in order to limit the number of times you have to pack/unpack everything.

Splitting a stay between the Polynesian and BCV is now my favorite way to vacation at WDW. I can pack half as much as a resort only stay, I don't mind moving and we are loathe to spend our DVC ponts on weekends. We have usually split 3,4 or 5 nights at the Polynesian (including Fri and Sat of course) usually on an AP rate with 4 or 5 nights at BCV.
