Help me make a room request for POP

We are staying at Pop in June - 2 rooms, 4 adults. They don't HAVE to be connecting, but we're hoping. We have booked preferred rooms, because I want to be close to the main building (last time I was there we were in the 90's and I hated it).

Can anyone recommend a room (or area) that would be good? Preferably not right at poolside?

Hi
We always like staying in the 70's. Its close to the food court and busses. I've been in the 50's also, and liked that a lot too. Some of the rooms in the 70's are now preferred. I would just request connecting rooms in the 70's bldg. close to the food court and busses. Have fun!!

Last year we stayed in the 70's section and we loved it!!! A very short walk to the main building/food court as well as the bus stop and pool! I will request 70's from now on when we visit POP.

Tough question to answer. Some of the preferred rooms are actually further away from the main area than the standard rooms and many are poolside at the Hippy Dippy pool. I would suggest the 70's building, maybe?:confused3 Problem is, everyone wants the perfect room--close to the main hub, not facing the pool, quiet, etc, but there are very few of those actually available.

I got a ground floor room in the 50's -- building 2 I think? Facing the bowling pin pool. Was a short walk to the main building.

One thing I've found is that I don't mind the farther buildings if I'm in a ground floor room for example. Less time messing with stairs/elevators etc.

Something to think about.

Hey! We just got back from there! In the same place! Ground floor, 50s near the pool. Room 2103! I didn't think I'd like it but I really did. Only problem was the music played outside was 50s and I wasn't born until 1962.

The walk to the main building was about 3-5 minutes, depending on which path you took. We would get our food from there and carry it back to the room. It was still the same temperature when we got back so the walk can't be that bad.

On one visit we reserved a preferred room and the only request I made was to be near the food court. We were place in the 70's building closest to the main building. On our last visit we again reserved a preferred room and requested a ground floor room in the 50's section near a designated smoking area and we were placed in the 50's building closest to the main building. Both of these request put us very near the main building(and bus stop):) . I listed the request when I made the reservations and politely asked again at check-in. They already had those rooms booked for us so they must pay attention to request. Good luck!

I suggest looking at the building layouts in the Grooviest Pop Century threat! You can get a great idea. My favourite is the 60's but we have been in building 3 on the 50's the tramp building looking out at the lake and could see Illuminations from the balcony it was nice and wasn't a far walk either! As far as requests you attach them to you reservation, or fax them i think its 3 day before as any later and your room is likely already assigned and the clerks can only work at placing you in whatever is left.
